I've been tagged....

....by Ali and Lorraine. And I thought these two lovely ladies were 'friends' of mine LOL

Seems I have to choose the 6th photo from the 6th folder in my pics.
This is it.
One of the pics taken on Christmas day. Me with son-in-law, g/daughter and hubby. Now what are two blokes doing on the settee leaving me to sit on the floor?!!

Now for 6 other bloggers to tag.

Kirsten, Jane, Leann, Sheena, Lorraine, Edna

Oh dear, I'd better get to it and let them know

Sugar Bowl - 3

150mm square

This is my effort for the Sugar Bowl challenge which is Love & Romance.

/>

I have swapped Lola's bunny for a sparkly heart. I used the free papers from this months craft mag, thanks Nancy!
The swirly heart paper is actually vellum, but I fixed it to a plain piece of paper so the brads didn't show through. Cuttlebugged second layer inked over with Old Rose.

I'm not too happy with my colouring, but it does look better than this IRL.
All the entries for this are gorgeous so I don't know how I had the cheek to enter this, LOL

Thanks for visiting today. Your comments are greatly appreciated.

Rainbow Lady challenge 45

Side opening A5

This weeks subject is Windows. Well, as I love this Sandra Kuck image I just had to use it for the challenge.

I would describe this as a classic card, no distressing or fancy bits.

Thank you for popping in today. Your comments are very welcome and greatly appreciated.

A card for no reason

I found this lovely pic of delphiniums so I fished out this lovely BP, from a mixed bundle of blues bought ages ago from Joanna Sheen.

Not often I make a card for 'no reason'. They are usually for a specific person or for a challenge. I'm sure I'll be able to give it to someone.

Thank you for visiting. Your comments are very welcome and appreciated.

A bit of fun

I always make a card for my daughter's neighbour and this one was made using a pic of him BBQ-ing last 'summer'!

It always has to be a funny one and fortunately he did like it. Much to my annoyance I thought of some much funnier captions after I'd finished.

Thank you for visiting and your comments are very welcome.

A lovely award

I was thrilled yesterday to receive this lovely award from Coldwaters2. Thank you very much Lorraine. It is so kind of you to think of me.

I now have to confess to things I am addicted to - eek!

My family - can't do without them
Cardmaking
Pretty ribbon, paper and flowers
Licorice comfits
Home grown veggies
Walkers crisps

Seems a lot of food so my last one is

Blossom Hill white Zinfadel, hee hee.

Now here is the hard bit!!

I would like to pass this on to
Ali, Jane, Sheena, Lorraine, Kirsten, Beryl, Kym.

This has taken me so long everyone will have got it in the meantime.

Take care all and thanks for looking in today

Sketch Saturday - 35

It is a lovely sketch this week but I'm not happy with
my effort.

I used one of the images from Lauren's blog candy that I received yesterday.
I think I've used the wrong colours to go with the image. Funny how ya get days like this LOL

Thank you so much for visiting. I do appreciate all your comments.

50th birthday

8inch square

I had a request for a card from DD's friend for a special card for her sister's 50th.
Her birthday is not until next month but she lives in Australia so I needed to make it in plenty of time.

You can tell I think it is extra special because I have again parted with TWO of the lovely Mulberry flowers. Greeting embossed with fine detail gold, hand cut leaf, flourish and 'Sister' and number cut in Azure font.
I actually did a bit of hand stitching on the 'torn' layer. My sewing machine is too big to get out just for a little bit like this. I'll have to look out for one of those little ones. I cut the middle out of a nestie label to make a frame and ran it through my CB using swiss dots embossing folder

Sketch and Stash challenge 2

I had to make a card for g/sons birthday from his Mum & Dad so have used the current sketch for this.

The stash is a freebie doodle from Kerry (Curly Girly Me) Thank you Kerry, I knew he would come in handy. Coloured with copics, 'Son' cut on CB from my new Azure alpha die and round sentiment made on PC.

Thank you for looking. As always your comments really are appreciated

Two awards and apologies

I have recently been honoured to receive two awards and apologise profusely for not displaying them sooner. I've been a bit overwhelmed this last week. Water leak to see to, passports to renew, grandchildrens birthdays, working at my DD's, and also quite a few special cards had to be made.

I have received this award from Lorraine
Thank you so much Lorraine for thinking of me and for all the lovely comments you have left for me.

The Encouraged award was kindly sent by Sandie and Gail. Many thanks girls, it is really appreciated

All three of these ladies have great blogs and you can see some beautiful creations.
You must pop over and visit them.

Thank you for thinking of me Lorraine, Sandra and Gail

Rainbow Lady challenge 43

A5

I am pleased that I have managed to make a card for Rainbow Lady's challenge this week. The subject is Fashion.

I don't know where I got the image from but glad I saved it to my PC. The flower paper is from the Laura Ashley prize from Trimcraft, the glittery Galleria.
The flower has been cut from the same paper and mounted on to another flower hand cut from an odd piece in my bit box. The string of pearls on the image have been dabbed with some mink coloured Appliglue so they stand out.
I've added some pearls and buttons.

Thank you for looking in today. I love to read your comments.

Sketch Saturday 34

I've used this weeks lovely sketch as the basis for my sisters birthday card.

I used my new alpha, Azure, another of my Christmas pressies to myself, for the 'sister', ran it through the script CB embossing folder and then inked it Versacolour Bamboo.

The rose image is from Victorian Flowers CD and printed on photo paper.

Big, huge 13th card

A4

Whew, this took a bit of doing!! I have done quite a few number cards but wanted to do something a bit more special for Grandaughter from her Mum & Dad. The initial idea seemed simple enough but it took an age to get the template just right, cut out and fixed together. The pics are not very good. I was in a rush to get it to DD this evening and didn't know that it was such a rubbish pic or would have tried again.

I have not cut the No:13 through to the back as I usually do. Instead I have left the back solid and lined it with a pale lilac paper.

Used a little bit of lace, organza ribbon and the lovely mulberry wild roses from Joanna Sheen, flourish in silver mirri-type card and bling

Sympathy

Side opening A5

My son and DIL asked me to make a card for their friend who tragically lost his wife at the weekend.
I love lilies, on cards and for real, but think the white tulips perhaps more suitable for a younger person.

Now I've finished it I think the sentiment is too clumsy but I so wanted to use my new nestie labels. The image is matted with silver mirri and the larger label cut from it also. I hope it will be accepted as it is.

Thank you for looking. Your comments always are so welcome.

Grandaughter's 13th

A5

This is for my beautiful Grandaughter who will be 13 on Friday. A family friend has a photography business and often uses M as a model for her portfolio and flyers. She can look very sophisticated for her age but is still the typical teenager, thank goodness! although my DD will not agree with that statement!!!

The photo I used is one of some taken recently, and I altered it to sepia because I thought it suited what I had in mind for the card. I have CB numbers but as I tend to do things the hard way, I cut the 13 by hand because I wanted a bigger, skinnier font and used a stretched Black Chancery in Word Art. I rubbed on some sparkly powder that I've had for years and recently found at the back of a drawer.

A close up of the little embellishment I made for the bottom of the card.
* I have added a pink organza bow to the top RH corner because I thought it lacking something!!

Thank you for visiting and any comment you wish to make will be really appreciated.

Sketch Saturday - 33

150mm Square

Aren't I lucky!! I won the Galleria set by Laura Ashley in the Trimcraft draw, so of course I had to use some of it for Sketch Saturday - 33 challenge.

The circley? paper, big brad and fibres are from my winnings and the base BP is a freebie from Scrapbook Flair. For a change I've used my other Maggie stamp. I must improve my colouring!!!

Thanks for looking in today. Your comments are truly appreciated.

Very Red!

150mm Square

I thought it a shame to cover up some of the designs of the lovely Laura Ashley paper I had for Christmas, so did this.

I cut out one extra flower (sacrilege!) to make an extra layer. The ribbon and the brad is from the same collection as the paper. This is flock paper from the Conemarra collection.

Finished with a black bow (off a present), stamped sentiment, a small piece of red 'fluff' (from a decoration of DD's) and sequins (off a card) with diamontes (new!)

Thank you for looking. All your comments really are appreciated.

Sugar Bowl Challenge 1

150mm Square

I couldn't resist making a card for the Sugar Bowl Challenge. The sketch is by Tiets and had to include a Sugar Nellie stamp. Luckily I have two stamps but my favourite is this Dressing up Maggie.

The pic a a bit blurred so here is a close up of the delighful Maggie.

Two Challenges in one

A5
Hopefully this fits two challenges, a first for me!!

Sketch and Stamp challenge No:1. The stash here is Laura Ashley paper received as a Christmas pressie from my DD, and also Dressing Up Maggie stamp. I have practiced colouring this stamp but never used it on a card before. I have turned the sketch round.

I hope it also qualifies for the One Stop Challenge 10. I've added a button to the centre of the flowers.

Thank you for looking. All comments are greatly appreciated.

60th Birthday Card

8inch square

I've made this for a friend's 60th birthday on Friday and I am quite pleased how it turned out.

The papers are Spring Romantic from Daisie and Loreta Labarca Nearly White and inked all edges with Wisteria ColorBox fluid chalk inkpad. The no: 60 and my favourite die of the moment, the flourish, were cut on my CB. I cut the leaves from a piece of green paper and 'painted' them with G99 copic. Finished with a large eggplant coloured FD (how generous!) from Joanna Sheen, pearls, lace, bling and a pinky lilac organza ribbon.

The box

A wrap made from silver mirri type card following Suzanne's tutorial Thanks Suzanne!!
Computer generated greeting, inked edges in the Wisteria. Another flourish, this time in the same silver 'mirri', AND another, though smaller FD. Think I need to lie down!! A couple of leaves and tied with the same ribbon as on the card.
I have added a little 'shelf' at the bottom of the back of the wrap so the card won't fall through. I felt quite chuffed with myself for thinking of this, lol.
Tis a shame I couldn't get a better pic of this, but you know how difficult it is to take a photo of mirri card.

Sketch Saturday - 32

150mm Square

This is the sketch for this week

This is my card.

I had hoped to use this for the cuttlebug challenge as well (sanded embossing) but the paper I used didn't have a white core and couldn't be sanded.

Thank you for looking. Your comments are really appreciated

Card for a friend

150mm square

This is for friend J who worked with me in another life.
It also fits the January challenge on Joanna Sheen's forum.
The challenge this month is to use a stamped background and this is the first time I have attempted masking. I used the script from the Hydrangea stamp from Joanna Sheen. Elusive Images, I think, but please someone put me right if I am wrong.
Other stamps used were a butterfly, an initial, my 'pretty lady' and a clear corner stamp and a flower.
I roughly cut a flower out of the original BP, inked edges and lightly painted it with copics. My favourite piece on this is the flourish cut with my brand new Sissix die, a Christmas pressie to myself. I added some dots of pearly Appli-glue that I have had for years and finished with a greeting tag, a bow, and pink gems that are actually for a mobile phone.
