Golden Wedding Anninversary

8inch square

Simon Says Challenge Blog is all about distressing this week.

I am very pleased with how this card turned out after spending an age deciding on a design and what papers to use. It actually looks very classy and am happy to say the lady I have made it for is delighted. It is her parents GWA tomorrow so I hope they like it too.
I think I spent nearly as long making the insert and the wrapper as I did the actual card.

The circle sentiment on the front is gold foiled and boy! what a job I had with it.
Anyone who has done foiling will know that it only works on text printed on a laser printer. Well, as I have only got an inkjet I had to go and use my DD's printer. The first attempt was patchy so another trip to DD's to do it again.
After that performance I decided to print the greeting on the front of the wrapper on my printer just using the gold colour.
The BP is from Audrey Jeanne's Victorian Rose collection a digital download possibly from Gina Miller. I forget cos I got it a long time ago.
The heart at the top is 'sparkled' with Glamour Dust and I made a hat pin to sit amongst the flowers lower down.
Some hand stitching, lots of flowers and a couple of corner peel-offs and taa-daa - done!!!

The DT cards for the Simon Says Challenge are gorgeous and I hope this card is acceptable.

Crikey, what a long post - I'm not usually so chopsy, lol.

Thank you for stopping by and also for any comments you have time to leave.
They are always very welcome and so cheering and encouraging :-)

Another quick card

A5

Edit I have changed the card because it looked too flat. I changed the flowers and made two layers to give a bit more dimension. I also added another layer to the paper bow.
I think it looks much better now :-)

Another quick card tonight.

The Daring Cardmakers challenge this week is 'On the Edge' and this has scallops on the edge :-)

I have used the sketch from this weeks 2 sketches 4 you challenge.

Thank you for having a look and for any comment you care to leave :-)

Quick card

135mm square

I've been feeling a bit out of sorts lately but have managed to do a quick card tonight and am pleased that it fits three challenges.
All the cards I made last week missed the deadlines, so I'm happy to get this one done in time.

I have used my new MS border punch that arrived last week from The Hobby House. I have longed for an MS punch for ages and now that I've got my first I want more!

1 I've used the MMSC11 sketch

2 Polkadots from the Creative Card Crew challenge

3 Colour Create challenge 23 is Blue and White

Some birthday cards

I've made three cards this week. Two were for challenges and I've missed the deadline of both. How dozy is that, lol.

This one was for MMSC10 made for DIL's nephew. The choice was Kelly Brook again (as last year) or the Hollyoak Babes. Anyway he loved this one

This was for a lovely bloggy buddy and of course I couldn't put it here until after she had received it.
Happy birthday Lorraine. Pleased to hear you've had a smashing day and lots of lovely cards :-)

I used the sketch from Spoonful of Sugar

The third card is not a challenge sketch and for my little great nephew who is two today.

Thank you for having a look-see and for any comments you might like to leave.

50th birthday and MMSC9

A5

I have had a lot of 'special' birthday cards to do this year and this one for the wife of the steward of the club we go to every two weeks. She has had a serious health problem this year and fortunately, I'm happy to say, has made a good recovery.

I thought the MMSC9 sketch was perfect for this card and really enjoyed using it

Digi image is Madison from Charmed Cards and I have coloured her dress to match the BP as near as I could.
I really love this image for celebratory cards and am in danger of being boring by using it so many times.

I added a little bit of sparkle to the flowers and the shoes are coloured with gold Pentouch. The '50' is discretely hidden in one of the flowers, lol, and the colouring in this pic is maddeningly distorted. Darn'd camera!!

Thank you for your visit and any comments you have time to leave will be gladly received

Birthday wine

A5

I had a request for a card for a birthday 'boy' who likes red wine :-) and have used the this weeks Friday Sketchers challenge as inspiration.

I have swapped the circles on the sketch for tabs as I felt these looked better for this card, rather than circles. Don't know if he would appreciate flowers which would have been the right shape.
The BP's are from the Moss Landing collection by Traci Sims.
The image is courtesy of Google, matted on silver card as is the greeting and name. The big 'J' is also silver although it is hard to tell from the pic.

Thank you for visiting and for any comments you have time to leave

New baby

My sister's eldest daughter gave birth to a beautiful baby boy last week.
He is named Ronnie after his Daddy's late father and he is a little darling.
I had the pleasure of meeting him last Friday.
His big brother is two tomorrow so it will be good that he will be getting a lot of fuss for his birthday so soon after the excitement of the new arrival.
My sister now has five grandsons. Isn't that lovely :-)

I have used this lovely baby image again just because I love it.

The challenge over at A Spoonful of Sugar this week is Hearts so I am putting this forward for that.

Thank you for looking in and for any comments you are kind enough to leave

Birthday wishes

This is to wish Happy Birthday to a very talented crafter.
Andrew makes the most wonderful cards as anyone lucky enough to receive one will testify.
Just in case you pop in for a deco Andrew, I'd like to say that I hope you had a very special day yesterday.

Thank you for visiting and any comments you care to leave are very much appreciated.

The second Thank You card

An unusual occurrence - I made two cards today. This happened because I had to stay in all day.
Hubby paid a visit to the loo at 5.30am (ooops, maybe too much information, haha) and heard water running in the pipes. Had a look outside and the driveway and front garden were like a lake. Turned off the supply at the mains, so no water. Then we couldn't lock the back door!
The chappie came and fixed the door about 12.30 and the Homeserve men came about 3pm.
Decided we needed a nice cuppa tea and I dropped and broke the teapot lid.
Son popped in for a while after seeing the doc and has been signed off work for two weeks. He kneeled on a screw head at work and his leg is swollen from knee to ankle.
Quite an interesting day!

This card fits the following challenges

Colour Create - Grassy green, apple green, sunflower yellow, lemon and white

Pollycraft
- Arrows

Crafty Goings On - Coloured stamped or digi download

MMSC challenge 8 - Sketch

A6

The cute young fella from Pollycraft digi downloads has made another appearance but I had to give him a different colour jumper for this one.
Coloured with Copics as the previous card. BP's are some of the oddments I am trying to use up.

Thanks for visiting and any comments which are really appreciated

Thank you cards for Teachers

A6

This is the first of two I've made for 6yr old grandson.
He needs two as his teachers are job sharing.
Not such a task as last year when I had to do four

I followed the Carol's Sketch Fun challenge 9
I have got so used to doing 150mm square or A5 I find it difficult to do such small cards nowadays.
This cute young fella is from the Promise Collection by Pollycraft

Thank you for looking and as always your comments are well and truly appreciated
