Chistmas Card for Teacher

************************

Ooops, I'd forgotten Grandson had asked for a card for his teacher so I used this tag which was made to be just that - a tag for a challenge.

Once again a tall DL - got a pack of these so need to get using, LOL.
Free papers again from craft mag, edged with gold pen. The tag is one from a pair of jeans and is popped up with foam pads.

The tag is quite basic compared to some but it still took a while to do....and I like the result :)
I first painted front and back with white paint - remember it was just going to be a 'free standing' tag so needn't have done the back.
I then painted with lovely cheapo gold paint added glitter then stuck on some crumpled tissue paper and the greeting image with watered down PVA glue.
More gold paint, more glue and more glitter.
An organza bow, a glittery snowflake and computer generated banner with teacher's name and I thought that would do but it looked very bare and corners didn't work or any other embellies so after leaving it alone for an hour I had  a sudden 'ping' of inspiration and added two 'ribbon' strips cut from another of the free papers.

I'd like to enter these challenges

Christmas Thank You

********************

Yesterday we enjoyed the Christmas afternoon tea with sandwiches, cakes and and entertainment from the pupils at grandson's junior school.
The youngsters are always such attentive hosts and it is lovely to have them fuss over us fogeys, LOL.
We were treated to a few carols and the young musicians did their bit - some of them have only been learning to play their instruments for a few months - but they all did so well, bless em!

This is the Thank You card to the Headteacher, staff and pupils for such a splendid afternoon.

I have used my new die, Spellbinders garden weave. I ordered it Sunday and it arrived Tuesday morning, just in time to make this card last night.

The BP and flowers are from my craft mag.

I've layered three different sizes of the flowers and added some punched leaves on to a piece of well distressed music paper.
Then just the tag and I thought that was enough.

I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas at Crafty Ann's

*********************************************

I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas
~ white on white background with a coloured image/topper ~

This is the last challenge 0f 2012 and a new challenge will start in the new year
  4 January 2013

This lovely poinsettia is from the  Trad-Temporary Christmas digital scrapbook kit*
I  printed it on on photo paper and decoupaged three layers and I think  it looks real pretty.
A little tip (though maybe everyone does this already, lol)  - I don't like to see the white cut edges so I always go around the edge with a matching colour marker - this seems to give the layers more substance.

I've sparkled up the Nestie floral oval, some of the snowflakes and around the edges of the snowflake embossed BP.

Simply finished with some white organza ribbon found languishing in my stash.

I painted the snowflake - made with the XCut embossing punch - with iridescent medium and added glitter while wet, and added it to the bow.
Shame you can't see all the sparkle in this pic.

*Most if not all of the elements in any of the scrapbooking kits can be used for cardmaking, they are not just for scrapbookers :)

The lovely DT have made a great job of ths challenge and their samples are well worth a visit over at   CACB .
We hope you will play along with us for this final challenge of the year and look forward to seeing your White on White creations and wish you a Merry Christmas and very best wishes for 2013.

Birds or Animals at CACB

**********************

Birds or Animals
(no people or insects allowed for this one)

This challenge has given me a good excuse to make a LO featuring my favourite little pup, Jacques, my DD's 'guard' dog.
He is a Shorkie and 5 years old. He may be tiny but he has a BIG personality, loves going fishing and taking anyone willing on very long walks.

Most of the elements here are from the Traditional Christmas Scrapbook Kit except the frame (metallics collection) and bookplate (cream dream) all can be found in Crafty Ann's shop here

We do hope you will be able to play along with us for this challenge. As usual the DT have done a grand job and you can see their samples over at CACB

If you pop on over to the Crafty Ann's Digi Shop you will find there is now a FREEBIES Section where you can grab something for free.  Whilst you are there you might like to check the rest of the shop as some kits have been reduced in price.

I'd also to enter the following challenges
Tanda Teaser - anything Christmas
Whimsy #53 - traditional Christmas colours
Artistic Inspirations #16 - anything goes

Thank you for stopping by
Cheers me dears

Tic Tac Toe at Crafty Ann's

*************************

The topic for this fortnight has been chosen by Kym

~~ Tic Tac Toe ~~

use three items in a row horizontally, diagonally or vertically

I have chosen the bottom line and used the pink abstract pattern for the main BP which I lightly over-stamped with TH flourish stamp using Sugar Pink DI in two corners.
I then used pale brown embossed dots paper, roughed up and sponged the edges - did the same with a piece of music paper and also curled two corners.
Both papers can be found in the shop.
I've had the pretty lady stamp for yonks and can't remember where I got her. She  has been languishing for too long and needed to get out into the world again :)
She has been glued to a Spellbinder oval and this is fixed on to the music paper  with foam pads

.

The charm, lace, seam binding ribbon and pearls from my stash.

You can see my lovely DT buddies fantastic samples over at CACB
It will be lovely if you can join us for this challenge and play Tic Tac Toe with us

Christmas in October at Crafty Ann's

********************************

Another fortnight has just whizzed by and it's time again for another challenge at CACB
Christmas in October

Crafty Ann's Traditional Christmas Scrapbook Kit is one of my favourites so it is no surprise that this is my choice for this challenge.

I started off with making a frame from the mitred gold peel off for the gorgeous gold starry paper from the Rhapsody in Blue Kit  (the only item NOT from The Traditional Christmas Kit). I then layered  it on to the gold paper.
I added the greeting, made in my graphics programme, to another plainer gold paper to go in the lush Holly Frame and finished with the lovely green ribbon with diamante buckle.

You can see my lovely DT buddies fantastic samples over at CACB
It will be lovely if you can join us for this challenge and get another Christmas card done and dusted.

The Challenge of.......The Film Title

************************

~~ be inspired by a film title ~~
and mine is

Singing' in the Rain

I doubt many of you will remember this film it is rather an oldie - a bit like me, LOL.
A 1952 American musical comedy film starring Gene Kelly,  and Debbie Reynolds  - two very popular fimstars of their time
It was accorded its legendary status by contemporary critics and is now frequently described as one of the best musicals ever made.
I didn't make this up myself, Jeeves told me :)

I haven't used this cute little ducky image before and this was what inspired the choice of film.  When you look back on our 'summer' it is quite appropriate.
The green BP is from one of my favourite collections - polished stone....the image is matted on to mid brown wood effect.......gems with gold rim from Traditional Christmas .....tag from Cream Dream and all can be found here

M' duck is a local term of endearment if you were wondering, lol.

We do hope you will be able to join us for this challenge - it will be interesting to see your choice of film title.
My talented team mates have come up with some brilliant projects again this fortnight,  so do pop over to the CACB blog to check them out .

I'll be sunning myself on holiday as you are reading this so please forgive me if I'm late commenting on your entries.

Three flowers, leaf sprays and lace and job done :)

I used -
Embossed dots + metallic paper
Leaves + pink flower - Eggstavaganza

Golden Wedding Anniversary

**************************

A commission from my neighbour's mother for her sister and brother in law.

I'm off on holiday next week for two weeks and have tons to do before I go - yanno, like I***ing and H****work, uggg, as well as some cards, plus hospital appts with hubby.

I love this image and use it a lot for anniversary cards and this sure is a special one.

Paper is one of  Eva Kipler's designs. I fussy cut around the ornate frame, added the image and adhered it to another piece of DP matted on to gold mirri. The mat is fixed with one layer of foam tape and the image/frame with two layers to give a nice bit of dimension.

The gorgeous venise lace was a little extra in my parcel from Linda, Funky Junky's Zibbet shop - thank you Linda :)
I made a scroll with all the details and added flowers from WOC. These I painted with cheapo gold paint and Winsor & Newton iridescent medium

Friend's 70th Birthday

****************

This is an 8" square card and box for my friend's 70th birthday.

I've had this lovely vintage paper saved on my computer for ages and have forgotten where it came from. The index page just says NBK . I digitally painted out the centre  and added an overlay of music after adjusting the opacity to make it look more shabby and distressed.

I gritted my teeth (cos I really just want to stroke this and not actually use it) and made a large double bow with some gorgeous deep pink silk ribbon from Linda's Funkie Junkie  boutique and also forced myself to part with some of the beautiful venice lace.

I painted the  large WOC rose with Winsor & Newton iridescent medium to give it a bit of shine and sparkle and made a stick pin with three pink pearls and a bead cap

I have used the same BP printed with a greeting for the inside

The box is simply decorated with a seam binding bow and another flower from WOC.
* The box is actually white - the lighting when I took the pic makes it look cream

Challenges
WOC #57 - summer flowers
Charisma #33 - lace
Paperplay #34 - sentiment as the main focus

Two the same but different !

This first one is a commission from a friend who loves easel cards. She has card making stuff herself but still asks me to make her special cards.  This is for her DIL.
I have offered many times to show her how easy it is to do easels - one day I will succeed :)

I had to use my new Floral Ovals dies - aren't they lovely.

The butterflies were cut from a leftover piece of BP.  I Versamarked them and used clear embossing powder to give them a porcelain look.
Flowers from WOC.

I don't usually make two cards the same but I so enjoyed making the above that I made a similar one for my friend's birthday.

New Baby

*******

I haven't done any colouring in for ages and it took me three attempts to colour this stamp. Also I've been soooo busy making cards I haven't had time to blog - AND I've got loads of emails in my inbox that need attention.

I used my NEW - and one and only - M-Bossabilities folder (Imperial ) for the background. This is such a bad pic but the best I could do. It is not much clearer even if you click the pic.
* New photo's - a bit better than the originals lol.

Another new aquisition is the lovely Floral Ovals die. I will be using this and the folder a lot :)
The sentiment circle was made in Publisher as usual.
Both of these are fixed with foam tape/pads

Finished with seam binding ribbon and bow and  flower.
