The Pretty Birdcage

*****************

I'm still on the mission to use my stash and I came across this bird and cage paper - just the job for a BG for this lovely Birdcage image from Nana Vic's Digitals, one of the images supplied for round #16 of the progressive challenge on CDAC

I printed it on to a piece of Moments in Time paper, matted on silver mirri and coloured with copics.
I based the design on a challenge sketch  but it is not near enough to enter.
I coloured a white flower with copics to match the image flowers.

My New Die

***********

I received some new goodies today from Funkie Junkie Linda's boutique.  One of them was the TH tattered floral die.........so of course I had to have a play and I made this for my neighbour's birthday.

The BP is one of Crafty Ann's Funky collection and the postcard stamp is one of my choices for a win from  LOTV. The mesh is plasterboard tape coloured with gold pentouch.

Two layers of punched butterfly - one from the BP and the lower one from the 'mess' left behind after colouring the mesh which is little gold squares.

I cut the flowers from an old book and coloured them with DI's.
Isn't it a shame I couldn't stamp the sentiment straight :(

Aud Sentiments - anything goes
Crafty Catz #130 - anything goes

Stitching at Crafty Ann's

**********************

Stitching - real or faux
is your challenge this fortnight

My main BP and the turquoise strip are from one of my favourites the Funky collection.
I have stitched around the main BP and punched a fancy Fiskars edge on the turquoise - tis a shame, but I've always had trouble with this border punch and now it is broken...and I thought it would last me forever :(

I found the perfect page on stitching for this challenge in an old book and the dress form is a freebie from a vintage image site.
The scissors, cotton reel and thimble are from Crafty Ann's sewing sheet . I positioned these on a piece of frayed muslin and added three tiny buttons

I wrapped some thread around the cotton reel and left a length trailing ready to be cut with the scissors.

Additional embellishments -
Tape bought at a craft fair last year
Lace
Small safety pin
Seam binding bow with button
Crinoline flower tinted with spun sugar DI

We'd love to have you join in with this challenge. Just pop over to CACB to see the lovely designs the DT have to show you and to post your very own 'Stitching' creations.

Uncle....You've been Framed

**************************
Gosh!! two cards and two posts made in one day....I don't believe it, lol.

These are the last two cards for son's birthday.  This first one here, made and delivered in the nick of time.
I wanted to vary the colours of his cards and ended up choosing this BP from...again...Papermania - the Sunshine pad.
I'm still being good and using my stash.

I gently distressed the edges of the diecut frame with frayed burlap DI.  I cut a rough shape of the die out of some yellow card for a  backing.   This reinforcement made it easier to attach  it with foam pads.
A couple of diecut corners, a rough raffia knot and ... that's it....simples.

Challenges
Joanna Sheen - someone special
4 Crafty Chicks #87 - no stamping zone

 A bit of fun

One of my son's other interests (after fishing) is growing chili plants.
There are chili plants everywhere, according to Grandson, lol.
I had joked with him that he could get lost in the 'chilli forest' so this is the story behind this card from him to his Dad .

BP - free with craft mag
Silver holographic mirri card

Thank you for stopping by today and to everyone for the lovely comments left on my previous posts.
Cheers me dears :)

Another card for son for tomorrow from sister - the wording sort of gives this away :)

I made the pennants by printing  words and matting  them on to check paper. If these don't look straight, you may well be right, lol

For my Son's Birthday

********************

For my son's birthday on Friday - I can't say how old he is -  it is a secret between the two of us, lol
BG paper is from Papermania Rose Garden pad distressed with vintage photo, bundled sage & faded jeans.

I used the CB Happy Birthday folder on a piece of a paper tissue box, then did a bit of distressing with the same DI's as the BG paper plus some gold EP.
The corrugated card was packaging from my DD, I wiped white acrylic paint on it with my fingers, a nice mucky job. Finished it off with some more gold EP

The Spellbinders die shape came from this, below - the lining of a powdered milk carton.

My attempt at  colouring this was hardly a success because it is too shiny and smooth so the ink puddled. I wondered if  I would have had better luck with distress stains -  I don't have any so I'll never know, lol.

So... I swiped some Cosmic Shimmer Mist on first and then dabbed on some alcohol ink with a sponge.
The idea to try this came from Anita's alcohol ink tutorial

These were also cut from the tissue box  -  embossed with gold EP and then the CB textile EF.
Ignore the round bit which is from a brochure,
I didn't use it for this card :)

So.... my re-purposed stuff is....corrugated card, a paper tissue box, powdered milk carton lining and some string.

Embellishments, jute mesh ribbon strip and the string that was wrapped around it from Funky Junky Linda's boutique

It's a Man Thing at Crafty Ann's

****************************

The theme this time at
is "Its a Man Thing"
Any project either for or about a man or boy.
A card, scrapbook page, bookmark, box, ATC etc -
anything as long as it's masculine.

I have used a mixture from the new Rhapsody in Blue and Cream Dream scrapbook collections. The good thing is that the scrapbook collections are versatile and can be mixed and matched for cardmaking too.
The image is from a vintage digital site.

It is my son's birthday at the end of the month and as he is a keen angler this will be his birthday card from me and dad.

The wording has been done digitally in Seriff PPx5.

It would be lovely if you could join us for this new challenge with your 'manly' creations. Do nip on over to Crafty Ann's CB and see what the DT have come up with this time.

I'd also like to enter these challenges

Party Girl

*********

I have borrowed this sentiment from a key fob of my DD's and I thought it would be fun for the new Frilly  & Funky challenge which is "I'll take your word for it". Not intentionally motivational but certainly a giggle.
It has taken ages to put this together...I printed the image and then couldn't decide on the papers, I am trying to use up my old paper stash.

Image source unknown/forgotten, but from a free vintage site. Layered on to music paper well distressed with a mix of DI's. Main BP's - Crafty Secrets and K & Co. The tag shape is from Crafty Ann's 'Journaling Tags' digi sheet with the sentiment printed on computer and cut out by hand. A bit more distressing and a final swipe around the edge with gold pentouch.

My rather poor attempt at crinoline flowers have been coloured with Spun Sugar DI with glittered brads for the centres.

Extras - lace, feather, stick pins and a glittery S/binders Fleur de Lis corner

Peachy Poppet

*************

I am being good and using my stash of paper. This is from the Papermania Sunshine pack again.
The postcard is a stamp I chose as part of my winnings from LOTV :)
I have taken the liberty of upending the sketch cos upside down fitted the placing of the PC better.

Punched flowers with a dab of liquid pearls for the centre and spellbinders fleur de lis swirly corner dies.
I used frayed burlap to colour these but they look rather green in the pic.

Additions
Seam binding ribbon
Lace
Flat back pearls
Stamped sentiment

Just Keep on Creating #1 - anything goes

He is such a lovely quiet and respectful lad you wouldn't believe he participates  in this sport.
Looks good too, LOL.

From DD & SIL

From us - some digital jiggery pokery involving putting the 'young lady' in what was an empty boxing ring.
The frame is from Crafty Ann's new collection, Rhapsody in Blue.

A very plain one from G/daughter with altered club badge.
