New Baby

I burned the midnight oil to finish this.
Our new little neighbour arrived either late Friday
or early Saturday, DIL is not sure and I haven't seen the new daddy yet.
He will be busy looking taking care of the baby's two older brothers.
Son and DIL (who are on holiday in Devon) weren't sure of the details
but think the baby is named Marcie Rose.
My son and the new dad have been friends for years and so that is why they heard the news before us who just live opposite!!
Update: I've found out that she was born on Saturday so have added the little heart with her name and birth date

4th birthday

Thank you everyone who has left such lovely comments.
They are all greatly appreciated

Fourth birthday for a change :)
These two are the little friend who had her heart mended a few months ago.
It is a shame I had to do these in a rush, I had forgotten her party is tomorrow.

And another...

This is the one for my nephew.

I can't remember what BG I used, it was some I had already printed off.
I thought it would be OK as it is not too feminine.
Finished with border peel-offs, punched leaves and raffia knot.

TaDaaa, yet another 40th card

I'm way ahead with this one.
Tis for another of daughter's friends and I thought her birthday was early September but it is not til November 5th.
Well, heyho, that's one down, 3 to go.
The next one coming up, same template, is for my nephew's 40th on Monday.
It is OK doing girly cards cos I like to add flowers but what to put on a fella's one is more of a problem.

A Wedding Card

The bridegroom is a designer so I wanted this to be faultless or as near as.
I am so cross with myself cos I mucked it up.
Can you spot the 'deliberate' mistake???
Apart from the name tag not being level - that is not fixed yet!

You know how some people have such a good eye for detail but I hope that my mistake doesn't 'hit' him in the eye.
I would cut off the front only it is a pop-out card and I've finished the middle except for the greeting and possibly a verse.

Another two cards to go with Rab!!

These are the other two birthday cards requested for the same person.
I'm not very happy with the 'z' shaped card because I ended up doing it in a hurry because of trouble with my printer, aaarrrgh.
But at least it is the right shape this time.

A bit of fun and one gone wrong

A quick card for a Scottish Rab fan. I hope the tartan BG is the correct one.
For the second card, I was trying to be a smarty pants and do a 'Z'? fold card. I attempted to do an A5 when the instructions were given for A6. Upshot is, I then decided I wanted it to fit a DL envelope so the result is not right but will do.
I will do a proper one when I have more time.

For Rainbow lady's challenge 26 - Music

40th again

A 15cm square card

I've made this for daughter's friend from us.
Weeeheee, I've done some decoupage, 3 layers!!!
The BG papers are Verena Karoli Designs.
Circles made with c/bug and the insides swapped around.
I'm pleased with this - the little flower on the image compliments the BG paper a treat.

Another 40th card

A5 concertina.
It feels like this is the biggest card I've ever made!
It is for daughter to send to another of her good friends.

I used Sweet Pea papers from Gina Miller, flora doodles, c/bugged no:, nestie ovals and name. I added one of the lovely butterflies and organza ribbon from Joann Sheen.
Random stamped butterflies on the back.
The tag on the 2nd page has a quote from a card in Sept issue of Making Cards mag and the tag on the 3rd page has the greeting and a space for signing.

Exciting.........at least for me!!!

This is the card that appeared in the readers card feature in Making Cards magazine Sept issue.
Woweee, to say I am thrilled is an understatement.

Son- in-law's birthday

A quick card for the grandchildren to give to their Dad. The usual A5 size.

My daughter gave me no suggestions so she'll have to settle for this

And this one took me an age!! which is why the other 2 were done in a hurry.
I had nothing in mind when I started it and it sort of evolved. I must confess, this seems to be my method of cardmaking. I am in square mode for this one.
Fortunately I am usually given some notice of orders for cards and therefore have time to shuffle paper and bits around.
These usually come in dribs and drabs anyway.
This must equal my record in cardmaking. THREE in one day - phew.

Card for friend of g/son

. I used BG papers from Audrey Jeanne's Baby Love and Amy Wolf. Printed greeting on tracing paper and embossed with detail gold which was torn at an angle and fixed to bottom LHS. Large hand cut no.5, ribbon, tag and googled image of High School Musical.
Personally I thought the image a little old for a five yr old but the little girls Mum suggested it so who am I to argue.
It is not really this bright, my bad photography. The no:5 is actually more pinky.
I think I'll have to do it again.
Update: I have changed the pic which is a little better.

A special card

Now, I don't know whether I should be putting this on here but it is the first time I have done a 'mostly' digital card. 'Mostly' because it had to be laminated and needed to be as flat as possible.
It is for my niece's grave. She would have been 29 tomorrow but her young life was cut short in a car accident at the age of 16. BIL gave me a few hours notice to do this and given more time I am sure I could have come up with something better. Anyway he was pleased with it and that is all that matters.
It is very nearly A4 size, the photo is matted on gold card and the leaves slotted into a little cut by the flowers. I added a little glitter glue in the centre of the flowers.

Oh dear!! Apologies...

...to all of you who have visited my blog and left comments.
I can't tell you how much these are appreciated.

I hadn't looked at some of the comments left on some of my first posts
simply because I didn't expect there to be any as I had not 'advertised' that I had a blog.

I promise to learn the etiquette of blogging and thank visitors sooner rather than later.
Thank you everyone

Card for a friend

This card was made in a bit of a hurry when I should have been more adventurous and made a better job of it. I used Spring Romantic papers from Daisie, one of my favourite collections. I managed to part with 2 more Flora Doodles, secured with a brad and a length of pearl. Finished with organza ribbon and a peel-off butterfly.
I am not happy with the stamping and embossing on the scallop. I have limited stamps and had to use what would fit. I guess I should have redone it but left it too late.
I also made a matching wallet for her gift.

New Baby Boy

I was asked for a card for new parents and think this PCHug image is perfect for either a boy or girl. The pram and baby is decoupaged - well, only 2 layers because I am not too keen on cutting out.
I managed to part with another couple of Flora Doodles. I had to add 3 prima flowers on the grosgrain ribbon to disguise the fact that I put a tiny bit of silicone glue under it to keep it in place.

The first 'grid' technique

This is the first card I did following a technique from SCS.
The stamp is one of the orientals from Joanna Sheen, coloured with H2O's.

Swirls for Rainbow Lady's challenge

My first attempt at a challenge
