13th Birthday

Over at Cute Card Thursday challenge 62 is 'A bit o' Bling'
I just love a bit, or even a lot of bling, so this challenge is a must for me :-)

This is for my granddaughter's friend and as you can see is 13 today.
G/daughter is just like her mother, leaving things to the last minute.
I had a call from her at 8.15 this morning asking me to make a card for her friend. The brief was - pink, sparkle, 13 and her name. This is the result after faffing around for ages going through all my pink paper. We all know how many different shades there are of any colour!!
I had to find paper in my stash because both of my printers are telling me they are low on ink so I didn't want to print more off.



I made the mistake of stamping my lovely Gorjuss Girl on the wrong paper and it didn't colour very well. Ah well, lesson learned. I just hope it is not inspected too closely.



I had already made the flower and added some Glamour Dust and a gold bow from my bit box.
Die cut name, Fiskars lace punched trim, some gems and a computer generated sentiment to finish it off.

Big, huge 13th card

Whew, this took a bit of doing!! I have done quite a few number cards but wanted to do something a bit more special for Grandaughter from her Mum & Dad. The initial idea seemed simple enough but it took an age to get the template just right, cut out and fixed together. The pics are not very good. I was in a rush to get it to DD this evening and didn't know that it was such a rubbish pic or would have tried again.



I have not cut the No:13 through to the back as I usually do. Instead I have left the back solid and lined it with a pale lilac paper.




Used a little bit of lace, organza ribbon and the lovely mulberry wild roses from Joanna Sheen, flourish in silver mirri-type card and bling

Grandaughter's 13th

This is for my beautiful Grandaughter who will be 13 on Friday. A family friend has a photography business and often uses M as a model for her portfolio and flyers. She can look very sophisticated for her age but is still the typical teenager, thank goodness! although my DD will not agree with that statement!!!


The photo I used is one of some taken recently, and I altered it to sepia because I thought it suited what I had in mind for the card. I have CB numbers but as I tend to do things the hard way, I cut the 13 by hand because I wanted a bigger, skinnier font and used a stretched Black Chancery in Word Art. I rubbed on some sparkly powder that I've had for years and recently found at the back of a drawer.

* I have added a pink organza bow to the top RH corner because I thought it lacking something!!

13th Birthday

A different number for a change. I do enjoy making the number templates so this made a change from the no:40.
It is for my husband's, cousin's granddaughter, phew!
We will be going to her party on Saturday. It will be good to meet up with the family and we'll have a lot of catching up to do. A few quiet drinks could well end up being a lot of noisy ones!!



I didn't make this template. It is one from Sara at Time for Crafting.
Mine are usually tent fold templates but I thought this side opening one would make a change.

13th birthday card

Would you believe it!!!
Considering i have always been obsessed with straight lines how did I manage to stick the sentiment on this card cockeyed.
And do you know I didn't even notice until I did the photo.
Well, I will not point it out to DD who asked for it for her friend's daughter.
