13th Birthday

Over at Cute Card Thursday challenge 62 is 'A bit o' Bling'
I just love a bit, or even a lot of bling, so this challenge is a must for me :-)

This is for my granddaughter's friend and as you can see is 13 today.
G/daughter is just like her mother, leaving things to the last minute.
I had a call from her at 8.15 this morning asking me to make a card for her friend. The brief was - pink, sparkle, 13 and her name. This is the result after faffing around for ages going through all my pink paper. We all know how many different shades there are of any colour!!
I had to find paper in my stash because both of my printers are telling me they are low on ink so I didn't want to print more off.

I made the mistake of stamping my lovely Gorjuss Girl on the wrong paper and it didn't colour very well. Ah well, lesson learned. I just hope it is not inspected too closely.

I had already made the flower and added some Glamour Dust and a gold bow from my bit box.
Die cut name, Fiskars lace punched trim, some gems and a computer generated sentiment to finish it off.

Thank you very much if you are kind enough to leave a comment. I appreciate them all.

MMSC3 and ABC challenge - Birthday

This is my second card using the current sketch over at Midnight Madness
It is a very useful sketch and I enjoyed using it again.
Priscilla is allowing three entries per week for the current 'shopping spree'.

I had a 'pink moment' today after my blue effort yesterday. I thought it needed a bit of extra colour so have added a lovely greeny blue flower as contrast.
I have parted with 3 of my precious flat back pearls. Precious because I don't have many left. OK - must go shopping for more!

P for pearls is the ABC challenge this week so this fits it just right.

Thank you for popping in. Your comments are really appreciated and are so encouraging, thank you so much

Anniversary

A5

I am getting ahead of myself as this is for daughter and son in laws anniversary in July.
Not that I've got nothing to do, just that I have no inspiration for the wedding cards that are needed for next week. Anyway, it is nice to just do a card for fun.

I have used this weeks sketch from MMSC and it is sketch 3 already.

I do love the Jack Vettriano images and have made a sort of pyramage with this one. I suppose a true pyramage would have more layers than this, but this is my version, hahaha.
I printed and trimmed 3 of the image and layered them with foam pads. The BP's papers are from my stash already printed off. My old brain can't remember which collections they came from.

Thank you for your visit and for any comments you wish to leave

Our Creative Corner is a new one for me and it is all about sentiments this week

The sketch is this weeks Pink Elephant. I hope I have not changed it too much.

150mm square

I am not going to say much about this card, except that it took an age to get the right curve on 'Congratulations'.
It is very late and I should be getting my beauty sleep. Heaven knows I need it lol.

Thank you for visiting. Your comments are really appreciated.

Colour Create - 16 - and Dutch Dare - 60th card

A5

What absolutely delicious colours they are for this week 16 of Colour Create challenge. Thank you Kim :-)

Over at the Dutch Dare the challenge is Glitter and Bling, yippee!

I was asked for another 60th birthday card and couldn't resist this colour combination.

Optional extras this week are to add gloss, glitter or glaze.
Surprise, surprise I chose glitter.

I love this image but can't remember where she came from. The BP's are from Gina Miller Sweet Pea collection.
Stitching, distressing and hand made flowers complete this, along with a die-cut swirl (glittered), punched leaves, organza bow and a large diamonte? brad.

The no:60 on the blue flower is under a Papermania dome sticker. I found these at the bottom of my 'bittybob' drawer. They have been hiding there for ages and have started to curl up.
The flowers have been Cuttlebugged, some with Devine Swirls, the others with Swiss Dots embossing folders. Everything is edged with ColorBox chalk inkpad - Azurite.

Thank you for looking in and for any comments, which are happily received :-)

60th card and Sketch & Stash challenge 10

A5

This is the third and last 60th card, for now at least.
It is from me for my friend and neighbour across the road who celebrates her big day tomorrow.

I have used this weeks sketch from Sketch and Stash. I like this one a lot. It was fairly easy to make it fit A5 landscape.

The delectable Madison is wearing a different dress in this one.
Well! a girl can't be seen in the same dress twice in one week, can she? LOL

The BP's are from one of my favourite collections from DAISIE, Spring Romantic designed by Doreen Stolz.
A few flowers, pink gems, organza and satin bow, a very discreet No:'60' peeloff from my neglected peeloff stash and some pearly stamens that were gathering dust.
The bow on the flower is made from a piece from a roll of fine net I was given last year. Would look better on darker coloured flowers.

The inside is fairly plain.

Thank you, as always, for stopping by, and for any comment you care to leave, my appreciation :-)

An award from......

My lovely friend,
Lorraine (Coldwaters2) .
This award is really appreciated and I am honoured and proud to display it on my blog.
Thank you my friend for your support and for thinking of me.

The 'Inspirational Award'.
You can nominate as many as you like to receive it, put the award on your blog, leave a comment and last but not least and this is the twist is to tell of a fact about yourself that no-one else knows and put it on your blog.

Here goes.
Many years ago (in another life), I worked at Unilever Research, Sharnbrook, and along with other colleagues, 'starred' in a promotional/educational film.
We were all invited to a viewing and all sat eagerly in the lecture theatre at work but due to a problem the film didn't turn up.
I never did see myself in my 'starring' role.

I would like to pass this on to you lovely girls who follow my blog. I am so thrilled that you clicked that little button and find the time to visit and for your support.

Your own blogs are a treat to visit and as the award says 'Inspirational'.

At the risk of sounding like an Oscar winner - Thank you, each and every one of you :-)

60th Birthday Card

A5

This is the first of three 60th birthday cards I have to make this week for two birthday 'girls'.

I am pleased because I think it fits three challenges.
Cute Card Thursday Challenge 60
Letters and Numbers. Just realised how appropriate this is :-)

Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge 32 - Glitter

and
Truly Scrumptious Challenge 7 - Going Dotty and this lovely sketch.

I have turned the sketch around so I hope it will qualify.
I couldn't resist the lovely Madison again coloured with blue/green copics.

A little glittering on the flourish and tag to add abit of sparkle

For a change I have taken a pic of the inside tho it is not very exciting

Thank you for looking. I will be really happy if for you to leave a comment, they are all truly welcome :-)

Do you think this is bright enough?

8" Square

I was asked to make a card in bright colours for a lady who's sight is poor.
I just hope it is suitable for a lady of this age, although her son has approved it.
I have been deliberating over this for weeks and ruled out using an image because of her poor sight.

There are a lot of elements that can be felt, like CB embossing and the flowers which are all raised with foam tape. The heart and flowers have been 'sparkled' with glamour dust.

I have made a wrap for the card, because I don't have paper large enough to make an envelope.
Many thanks to Suzanne who has done an excellent tutorial on how to make these and I always do this now for 8"sq cards that will be hand delivered.
For those of you who haven't visited Suzanne I wholeheartedly recommend you do so. There are currently 143 fantastic tutorials and product write-ups.

Thank you for stopping by and for any comments you feel like leaving.
Each and every one is appreciated :-)

Get well

8" square

I have made an urgent get well card tonight.
Daughter's friend fell down the stairs yesterday and has broken her ankle in two places. Poor thing has had it pinned etc today and it seems she will be in hospital for a few days.

I have made a large card so that a few other friends can sign it if they wish.

I am not particularly happy with it but, it was made in rather a rush.

Thank you for visiting and for any comments you care to leave.
They are always greatly appreciated

For a friend

I have made a card for a friend and found that it fits three challenges.
Now, some of you clever peeps do this all the time, but for me it is very unusual.

Colour Create 15 - blue and green
Creative Card Crew 9 - emboss
Sketch Saturday 50 - sketch

The image is from Cute Daisy May Designs and I think she is lovely.

The image is coloured with copics and is lifted with some foam tape.
I have added a little bit of sparkle to the flowers and the bow in her hair.
Two of the BP's have been embossed - the pale one with Swiss Dots and the patterned with swirls and this one has been lightly sanded.
The base paper is one of Nancy's from Making Cards mag.

Don't be shy, do please feel free to leave a comment.
I do love reading them and they are really appreciated.

Just when I'd thought I'd finished................

..........I had a request for yet another 40th card.
I told you I would be boring you with these this year.

This is a variation of a card I made for another Man U fan last December.
There is not a lot I can say about this card. I had altered a googled image and fortunately I had kept it and this served as the BG again. The rounds are cut with plain circle nesties and lightly inked.
I haven't decided what to put on the inside yet - plenty of time - it is not wanted until Saturday.

Thank you for stopping by and please feel free to leave a comment. All comments are really appreciated.

Sketch and Stash challenge 9

150mm square

This week is a lovely simple sketch

Introducing my first Gorjuss girl.

I've been very tentative with the colours, maybe I'll make her more colourful another time, but I fancied earthy colours today.
The BP's are from Gina Miller's 3 o'clock drop collection, another neglected acquistion.

The flower consists of a folded Dunelm gerbera, a flower from a silk arrangement which was originally a wedding table decoration and a bought flower to top it off.
Finished with some pearls and organza ribbon.

Thank you for stopping by. Your comments are truly appreciated.

Creative Card Crew - Challenge 8

150mm square

Sharon has provided a wonderful sketch for this weeks challenge.

I have used it to make this Baby Boy card.

I really enjoyed using this sketch and am happy with the result.
Again I used various papers that I have already printed, mostly Sweet Pea from Gina Miller Designs - I think!
Every edge has been inked with either/both VersaColor Seafoam and ColorBox Azurite.

Thank you for visiting, my bloggy friends. All your comments are greatly appreciated.

New Home 2

A5

I eventually managed to make this for my daughter and family.
I don't know what I originally intended but this is the outcome.
They have moved into a larger house, so this image is my little joke.
As I said in my previous post I am using up my stash and I have used peel-off borders and corners, something I have not done in ages.

The flower is another layer of a Gerbera from Dunelm. One of the large petals so I folded it and layered it with two other bought flowers.
Once again the Main BP is from one of the Joanna Sheen packs.

A bit of lace and an inked and glittered swirl left over from another project and that is it.

Thanks for looking :-)
