Christmas at Crafty Ann's

**********************

Christmas in March

A lot of you are very organised and like to get an early start on your Christmas cards.
Of course if the thought of making a Christmas card this early in the year gives you the shudders, you can always do a Scrapbook page of Christmas just gone.

All but one of the elements here are from the traditional Christmas collection - the heart is from metallic frames.
Many of you will recognise the image- one of my favourites - in the beautiful frame. This is fixed with foam tape. I added gems to the ribbon border - it was nice and easy to cut out and is flat

I added the greeting digitally to the heart then cut it out and fixed it with a double layer of foam pads.

The DT have some fab inspiration for you over at CACB and it would be lovely if you can play along with us for this challenge.

I'd also like to join.......
Crafty Purple Frog #37 - anything goes
The Crazy Challenge #112 - add a sentiment

Thank you for stopping by :)

Our 49th Wedding Anniversary!

******************************

Why oh why does blogger have to play up when I am in a hurry to post this card before hubby surfaces.
Anyway.... this is for our 49th wedding anniversary tomorrow...eek...where have the years gone!!!! Each one seems to go faster than the the one before.....not fair when I'd prefer them to slow down, lol.
This was all done in a rush cos hubby kept lurking around while I was making it

The Paper is from a very old (appropriately) Crafty Secrets pad found in a neglected drawer.
I cut around the rose to overlap the scroll - I thought it would be a shame to cover it up.
The image is a freebie from a vintage site....don't remember which one.
Ribbon, messy bow, lace -  flower  made a while ago, so apart from printing the image all was collected from my stash.

I am so pleased to see that 'Funky Junkie' Linda has started a new challenge blog,  Frilly & Funky , and the first challenge is..... what is your vintage style.....I am definitely a 'Frilly' - I haven't got to grips with steampunk, mainly I guess because I don't posesss any steampunky style stuff.

Challenges
Crafty Calendar - March challenge - spring clean
Crafty Cardmakers #64 - time - well!!! I'm pushing it here but 49 years IS a long TIME, lol

Thank you for stopping by

A Sweet Baby Boy

****************

This is a very late congratulations card from son & DIL to their friends - the original email with the pic got lost in cyberspace.

All of the papers here are from my bits box so I am very pleased with myself to have found all these that matched the pic of the new arrival.

The 'plain' blue  rectangle has fine polka dots on it though hard to see in the pic. I ran the red through the CB with swiss dots and went over the top  and edges lightly with a white ink pad - again not very clear
I matted the pic of the baby on to red card then adhered to silver mirri with foam pads.

Simple embellishments of some muslin, buttons, gingham bow and flower. I have had the ribbon and the teeny buttons in my stash for well over 10years.
I nearly gave up trying to get the thread through the holes of these miniscule buttons but I am not one to give up and triumphed in the end.
The sentiment circle was made in Publisher and adhered with foam pads..

Not the usual mother's day colours maybe but I love this swirly paper

Lots of foam tape/pads on these three layers.

Spring into Spring at Crafty Ann's

****************************

is
Spring into Spring
...spring or Easter themed projects...

The year is flying by and it is lovely to see the daffs and crocuses blooming and the blossom on the trees.

I chose Ann's pretty pre-coloured daffodil topper as the main feature..
I've used a MS border punch on the green and blue papers which are from the polished stone collection. Both the digi and the BP's can be found in the shop here.

I coloured the doily with gold pentouch -  it looks lush.

Three... yes!... three layers on the flowers. A good score for me who usually stops at one.

We hope you will Spring into Spring and join us for this challenge.
As always, the DT have some excellent projects for your inspiration over at CACB ,  so do nip over and check them out. It will be lovely if you can come and play along with us for this challenge.

Mothers Day

***********
8" sq

A commission (lol) from my g/children for their Mum. This is bigger than intended because I printed the backing paper the wrong size. Being a cheapskate I didn't want to waste it so used an 8" card blank instead of  the 5 1/2"  -  however could that be considered being thrifty, duh.

The lovely paper is a freebie from Lenascrap a really beautiful collection.
Of course I didn't want to cover this up, it is so pretty, so the design is very simple.

Ribbon, lace and gold brads. The heart is digital made in PPx5

I bought this gorgeous sparkly button and the lace from the local market.

I made the faux 'nestie' in Serif PPx5. I don't have a real one so improvised.

Anything but a Card at Crafty Ann's

********************************

This time you are challenged to make...
Anything but a Card

As soon as I saw the topic of this challenge I knew what I wanted to make ....a pretty shoe.
I've used one of the papers and the flower from Crafty Ann's Cream Dream collection. I don't do scrapbooking but the SB collections are lovely for cardmaking too.
The heel is a wine cork covered with paper with a button on the bottom.

The extravagant bow is silk ribbon from  Funkie Junkie Linda's Zibbet store.....sooo beautifully soft, I really just want to keep it to stroke :)

Other stuff
The template and a video tut for the shoe is from the lovely Terri (Artful Affirmations)
Crochet lace
