60th Birthday

************

Challenges
Papertake #58 - sketch
Allsorts #114 - free n easy
CCCB #76 - pink, green, white
One Stop # 141 - vintage
Ruby's Rainbow # 8 - vintage

For the wife of my DIL's boss.

The lucky birthday girl is off to New York with a friend in September - courtesy of her husband :-)

I remembered having this beautiful image of an ad for a NY clothes store - just perfect for this card.

Isn't she lovely, although looking rather sad methinks.

I've made the embellies to compliment the image. As the lovely lady is wearing a BIG flowery hat I  made this hat pin and  my first 'crinoline' flower - dyed with tattered rose DI   -  I'm so proud of it LOL.
I just love the crinoline flowers made by Linda Coughlin  and followed her tutorial here - although as I don't have any of the  right size/shape dies I cut my own shapes.
It is laying on two 5cm squares of muslin well fringed around the edges :-)

Other stuff -
Papers from my leftovers/scrap box.
Handmade sentiment, distress inked with TH vintage photo
Circle embossed with CB texture folder which also has the vintage photo ink treatment
Doily - difficult though it was, I managed to leave this unadulterated
A tiny bit of sparkle added to the sentiment circle and the brad.

Thank you for stopping by today
Cheers me dears

This is so lovely, Irene! That's a great vintage image and I love the way you have matted your doily with the embossed circle - what a great effect! Your flower turned out sensational - beautiful color and so nice and fluffy. Really, you can use just about any dies to cut your crinoline with, although my favorite are the tattered florals dies.

Thanks so much for linking up to Sunday Share again this week. Sorry you didn't win, but hope to see you back again next week. I so appreciate your support of Frilly and Funkie!

Hugs,
Linda
