Step fold card

The challenge at The Next Level this week is to make a step card or a free standing pop-up. I couldn't make up my mind but ended up choosing the step card.

I am not at all happy with this effort but you might as well see the poor efforts as well as those I am happy with, LOL

It is hubby's birthday soon so as you can guess this is for him. Trouble is I will have to look at it too for a few days!!

Thanks for looking in today

Dougall

This is the result of a request from DIL's dad for a card for his brother who is nicknamed Dougall.
The BP is from Joanna Sheens animal Magic and as the card had to go by post I needed to keep it 'thin' and just added an extra layer to Dougall's face and raised the star and number with silicone glue.

Thanks for stopping by and any comments you have time to leave are greatly appreciated.

Dads

I haven't made a new card to show today so I am posting two of the other Fathers Day cards I made

The first is my attempt at what I think is called a 'word book' card. As i don't have a template for one of these I had a go at making my own. All things considered it actually looks quite good.

This second one was made for DIL's dad who, as you might guess is a golfer.

Wedding Congratulations

A5

Just a very quick post this morning as I'm off to 'work' at daughters.

This smashing sketch is the CRAFT Challenge No.5

The card is for a friend of Son's who got married somewhere exotic and is now celebrating at home. Their party is on Saturday and I'm sure everyone will have a good time.
As it is the grooms 3rd marriage I thought something less traditional would be more appropriate so hope this fits the bill, as it were.

The papers and image are freebies from Jak who's blog can be found at Crafters Kitchen. Thank you very much Jak, this was very useful for this occasion.

Thanks for popping by today and for any comments you care to leave which are very much appreciated

Fathers Day again!

150mm square

I have made two cards using this weeks challenge sketch over at The Next Level

Not very exciting I'm afraid, but I needed to make two urgent cards for Fathers Day.
I know I shouldn't have left them to the last minute!!
I stuck the curve on the front of the card in this first one, leaving a gap for the tag......

...... then decorated the inside.

For this second one I cut away the front of the card and fixed the tag on the inside.
I found doing it this way was much easier.

Thank you for stopping by today and for any comments you have time to leave :-)

Fathers Day

I have used this weeks sketch from Midnight Madness for this card for son in law.

The background for this is mainly digital. I was in a rush to do this but I reckon it took me just as long as if I'd done it the usual way :-)
The rush was because just after I'd started choosing papers and image I had to leave it because eldest G/son (15yrs) was rushed to hospital. I had to go and 'mind' g/daughter and finally got to bed around 2am. He is OK and only kept in overnight.

I put a blob of Anita's 3D clear gloss on the 'brads' which gives them a bit of a shine.
The image is from Bird Life 2 (PC crafter) and is two layers to add a little dimension.

Thanks for calling in today. As always your comments are really appreciated - thanks my friends :-)

Birthday Wishes

I am pleased to say that this card is for two challenges this week.

Colour Create
- Blush Pink, Lilac and Mossy Green, with the option to use a die cut

Friday Sketchers gives us a lovely sketch this week

I changed the pic because I removed the lilac bow. I think it looks better without it.

I used my nestie oval scallop and hand cut the larger piece. I usually only do this with the circles and then I use pinking shears. There is some faux stitching because I couldn't be bothered to get my sewing machine out.

Thanks for calling in and for any comments you have time to leave.

Pretty girl

There is a great sketch for the
Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge week 5 and the 'bling' makes it eligible for the Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge 35

This is my interpretation

What a pretty little girl she is :-) I have once again used papers from my stash and can't remember which collections they came from.
OK, I admit to being too lazy to check through my files to find out. You don't mind do you, lol!!!
The cherry blossom flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts. Same as the ones on the wedding card a couple of posts ago but these have a hint of blue.
The squares at the top are the correct colour. My camera is not behaving itself lately and the ones at the bottom have come out a different colour.
I have added pale pink gems to the squares because they looked too plain.
The nestie circles and the squares are fixed with foam pads so it is quite a bulky card. I'll have to make sure it will be hand delivered

Thank you for stopping by today and all comments are greatly appreciated. Thank you!!

Hi Dad

At last I have managed a card for The Next Level challenge which this week is to make a ribbon border.
I had the pleasure of having my dear aunty stay with us Friday to Monday for my nephew's wedding so have got a bit behind with the challenges.

I was only practicing, but it took me soooo long to make this ribbon border I just had to make use of it. I will give it to youngest grandson to give to his dad.

I recently acquired the cute little Albert from Pollycraft and this is the first time I have used him.
The Pollycraft Monday challenge this week is 1,2,3 so i hope this card qualifies for this too.

Also Dare U to Digi Stamp challenge 10 is ribbons this week

Thank you for stopping by and if you have time to leave a comment I will be more than pleased :-)

Golden Wedding

Butterflies is the Spoonful of Sugar challenge 45 this week. The DT cards are fantastic as usual.
I have used the Sketch Saturday Challenge 54 as inspiration for this Golden Wedding card.

This is a not a very good close up

Sorry my post is so short but I wanted to do this before I shoot out to my DD's.

Thank you for calling by. As always your comments are truly appreciated - thank you my friends :-)

Wedding

A5

My nephew is getting married on Saturday and I have been putting off making the card.
I liked this weeks Midnight Madness challenge sketch 4, so have used that as my inspiration.

The BP's are Dianne Rigdon Heart Sweet Heart collection from ScrapArtist and Loreta Labarca collection from Daisie. The cherry blossom flowers are a new acquisition from Wild Orchid Crafts

The hearts and the wedding date have been 'sparkled' with Glamour Dust and I have made another beady pin which has been stuck through a net bow.
The big bow on the side is white and pink organza, though it is hard to tell from my rubbishy photography.

The frame around the Wedding Day wording was a fiddle to make and I used a lot of small foam pads to attach it.

Thank you for visiting today and for any comments you are kind enough to leave.
They really encourage and make me smile :-)
