Goody Recycler or Baddy Cheapskate?

Personally I think I am a goody recycler.

It is our 46th wedding anniversary today and I made this card last year for our 45th and as I didn't have time to make a new one for this year, I fished this out.
Hubby didn't notice that it was last years so I have got away with it!

I managed to get the no:5 off and replace it with a no:6 that was in my bit box, so apart from a new envelope (which I didn't write on) it cost nothing in time or effort.

Now I'll admit that this is really cheapskate - I didn't write on the inside!!!!

I wonder if I will be able to swap the 6 for a 7 next year, hahahaha.

My excuse is that we both have been very busy for the last week. Daughter and family are buying a new house and the previous owner didn't finish it so there is a great deal of work to do on it. Of course Mum and Dad are at the front when help is needed. I have been looking after her business, packing orders and the like and she has been painting with her Dad and organising the fitting of a temporary kitchen and bathroom ready for the tilers and carpeters to do their bit.
Phew, I want to go away and come back when they have moved in.

I haven't had time (or energy) to enter any challenges but hope to get back on track soon. So, if anyone wonders why my blog is neglected you know why and I will graciously accept your sympathy :-))

Thanks for stopping by and for any comments you are kind enough to leave.
Even if you berate me for being so mean.

Oh, I forgot.....

Side opening A5

This is the first of three anniversary card commissions.
I'd forgotten I hadn't put it on the blog.
I have until June to do the third, a Golden Anniversary for a change :-)

Please feel free to leave a comment. All comments I have received for you lovely bloggers are really appreciated.

40th Wedding Anniversary

A5 Tent Fold

This is the second commissioned Ruby Wedding Anniversary card for the same customer.
I started it yesterday but changed my plans because I had a better idea in the early hours of the morning!
I didn't manage to finish until tonight because I had an SOS from DD and went to 'mind the store'.

I used various dowmloaded papers and made some more flowers. For the big one I used Jak's 'Build a Blossom' freebies.

I will pop it in to the surgery tomorrow as I am off to the Forest of Dean for my aunts funeral on Thursday.
I haven't seen my cousins in years so it will be good to see them and their families.

Thanks for your visit and for any comments you have time to leave.

The very last Mothers Day card

I made this in a great hurry for SIL's mother using the Cute Card Thursday sketch and intended to enter it but then find that I've missed the deadline by ONLY three days.
How dozy is that. No don't tell me, I know!!

Once again I've used some BP's from my stash. I am really being good and trying to use up some of the many half pages and bits I've got already printed off.
The image is my favourite 'pretty lady' stamped on to some parchment type paper. I wanted her to be pink but my pink ink pad was too pale.

Thank you for stopping by and for any comment you have time to leave

Truly Scrumptious - Challenge 3

Another Mothers Day card this time for the Truly Scrumptious challenge.

I hope this is acceptable with the sparkly heart in place of the square on the sketch!
As this is for 6yr old grandson to give to his Mum I used this cute Pollycraft 'Heartfelt' image.

Thank you for looking :-) Any comment you care to leave will be really appreciated

Sketch and Stash challenge 6

I needed a nice sketch like this to make a Mothers Day card for Grandson to give to his Mum.

Once again I have used some of my stash of BP's. I am trying to use up as much as possible instead of keep printing off new stuff each time.
The image is a new ready coloured one from Charmed Cards.

Thank you for popping by and for any comments you care to leave. Each and every one is greatly appreciated

Pollycraft challenge - 11

It's another nice sketch for the Pollycraft Challenge this week.

My effort. I can't remember where the BP's are from, I had them already printed off.

Another sympathy card! & Creative card Crew challenge 2

This is for my cousins. Their Mum, my Dads sister-in-law, died on Sunday.
I don't know what made me do a monochromatic card and now I've finished it I'm not sure about it. I like it, but maybe not as a sympathy card.

I realised that it fits the Creative Card Crew challenge 2 which this week is not to use designer paper.

The flower made from circle nesties and reverse sides embossed with Swirls and Birds? CB folder. Everything is inked with versacolor umber.

Thank you for calling in. Please feel free to leave a comment, I really enjoy reading them and they are all very welcome and appreciated :-)

Sugar Bowl Challenge 6 - Mothers Day

Daughter in law asked me to make a card for her Mum.
What better excuse to fit in to this weeks challenge over at
The Sugar Bowl :-)

I was itching to use some the new digital BP's I downloaded yesterday and these are Sophie Papers by Gypsy Chick from Scrap Artist. The pink flower is made up of one layer I dismantled from a Gerbera from Dunelm Mill, a Copic painted prima and another flower from my stash.

Thank you for popping in and any comment you have time to leave will be greatly appreciated.

Baby Boy

This week Rainbow Lady's Challenge 51 is 'Alphabet - A'
This card is for baby Arthur Andrew so i reckon it qualifies, even if it pushes the boundary just a bit :-)

I added the image digitally in Serif Photoplus to my chosen BP by lowering the transparency until it merged. It took me an age to do this mainly because it has been a long time since used this programme for anything more than saving my pics and my poor old brain cell had forgotten how to do it.
I am well into making flowers and this one has a prima centre and I had to add a small piece of lace and a bow. The 'baby' word and 'Boy' disc were cut with CB and the 'bundle of joy' at the bottom is actually stamped. Stamping directly on to a card makes me very nervous but I am reasonably happy with it.

Thank you for your visit and for any comment you care to leave. All comments are truly appreciated.

Sympathy card

A5

Now that I have finished this I am not sure about it being suitable for a sympathy card.
It is not the style I usually do for this sort of card but I liked the image of the lady. She has such a serene look about her.

I used the sketch for this weeks Sketch and Stash challenge to give me some inspiration.
I am afraid the only 'stash' I've used is the lilies that I've had languishing for ages.
I apologise for the poor pic. Somehow managed to get a 'flash' on the image :-(

Thank you for popping by and for any comments you care to leave.

Creative Card Crew - Challenge 1

135mm square

The first challenge for the Creative Card Crew is to make a card using Green.
As green is one of my fave colours I enjoyed this.
I managed to find odd bits of left over paper so didn't need to print off any specially for this and found an odd button for the centre of the handmade flower.

Thank you for popping in and any comments you have time to leave are greatly appreciated

Colour Create - challenge 5

A5
I can't believe this is challenge 5 already! This week the theme is Blue and Brown.
Oh, what a lovely combination

I chose another of the delightful images from Charmed Cards. This time it is 'Madison goes to the ball'. I have coloured her with copics and the circles are embossed with the Swiss Dots and Calligraphy folders. I feel I have been very generous with the flowers and the bow in the centre of the bottom one is made with a piece of brown lace. There are 5 little pearls in the top RH corner. The lace and pearls are the extra option this week.

A close up of Madison

Thank you for dropping by. All comments are gratefully received and truly welcome

Happy birthday to me!!! - and two lovely awards

This smashing award has been passed on to me by two lovely bloggers Beryl (Bik's Home) and Kym. If any new visitors have not visited their blogs, now is a good time! - it is a pleasure to see their work.

I am supposed to nominate 10 other bloggers to pass this award onto but that is so very difficult when I think your blogs are all so wonderful and inspirational and I have more than 10 fave blogs. Any of my followers are more than deserving and welcome to put this award on their blog.

Kym also presented me with this lovely award.
Thank so much Kym

Ruby Wedding Anniversary

A5

Julia has blog candy and has asked for cards with a handmade flower.
For the big flower I cut some nestie circles and then cut and shaped them. A little time consuming but fun to do.
The others are just punched and layered.

I don't know if I like this card, it is a bit too busy, but wanted to use some of my Laura Ashley Christmas pressie paper.

Thank you for popping in today and for any comments you have time to leave. Each and every one is appreciated.

'So Chic' Madison

A5 side opening

A lovely sketch again this week from Friday Sketchers - challenge 41 and I have used it as inspiration for a birthday card for my niece.

I have coloured 'So Chic' Madison, digital download from Charmed Cards with copics and made a flower embellishment.
Isn't she just delighful!!!
I do like these digital downloads, and will be expanding my collection.

The theme for March over at the Joanna Sheen forum is flowers so this will fit that one too.

Thank you for visiting and any comments you wish to leave will be greatly appreciated.
