New Home

I had a message left on answer machine from a lady leaving a message of condolence.
Of course I had to ring her back to let her know she had the wrong number and we had a little chat. She is 93 and is moving to sheltered housing tomorrow.
I couldn't resist making her a card.

As I don't know her new address I will deliver it to the warden tomorrow.
She sounds so lovely and bright as a button. I hope she likes it and, more importantly, is happy in her new home.

Thank you for visiting.

Thinking of you

Todays card is for my Aunty.
Uncle died 3 years ago on Sunday and I always like to send her something in the post for the anniversary.

I used another of the images and BP Joanna gave me and I think it has turned out OK.
I thought I would like to do something that was not the usual A5 so as you can see it has a bit chopped off the side. This was inspired by one of Suzanne's excellent workshops.
I used the same dk green CS (with a goldy shimmer) as the retirement card. The image and sentiment are matted onto silver mirri type card and finished with pretty green organza ribbon.

A5 Best Wishes

Last Saturday I went to Colemans, Rushden to see Joanna Sheen and Paul Church demo'ing.
What a delightful few hours that was and I also had the pleasure of meeting up with some lovely Sheenies.
As my PC was poorly, Joanna kindly gave me the backing papers and some images that went with her demo's.
Now how nice was that. What a nice lady.
I used some of it today and made this card.

The flower has just one added layer to give a little depth.

I'm back

I had my PC fixed today and am pleased to say it didn't cost an arm and a leg.
It was the power unit that went POP and fortunately it didn't fry anything else

I managed to do this card yesterday but had to go to my daughter's to print the sentiments. It is for one of her customers who is retiring and lives on a narrowboat.

A5 side opening. Cardstock is a dark green with a goldy shimmer. I've had it ages and thought I should make use of it. BG paper is the main image enlarged and printed onto tracing paper as I couldn't make up my mind what paper to use. Image printed on photopaper and matted and layered on shiny black and gold mirri card. Punched and inked leaves

I am sorry to say that my computer blew up yesterday.
I hope it won't be too long before I am online again.

Back from holiday and a 50th card

Hello. It is good to be back in blogland.
We returned from our holiday in the Algarve on Friday.
We met some lovely people and the weather was nice and hot, though a little chilly in the evenings.
I have put the winter duvet back on today and of course the heating is on.
Luckily I've managed to get the washing dried. When it will be in a state to put away is anyones guess, haha.

Soon as I got back I had a request for a 50th birthday - makes a change from all the 40th's I've done lately.
I usually takes me a long time to get back into cardmaking after a break and this is no exception. I feel devoid of inspiration but it'll have to do.

Closing down for two weeks

Yes, we are off on our jollies to the Algarve very, very early in the morning.
I have nearly finished packing and have had a bit of a 'muck out' but still need to tidy away my craft stash.
A good time was had by all at yesterday evening's girls night at Peterborough.
We had a bottle of fizz both ways in the limo and I came home quite a few £'s poorer, as I expected.
This evening we are off to the pub for a bite to eat, then visit the 'kids' to say tata.
I hope to get an early night cos we'll have to get up about 3am.

Keep up the good work while I am away
I will miss you all
Bye for now
