Chistmas Card for Teacher

************************

Ooops, I'd forgotten Grandson had asked for a card for his teacher so I used this tag which was made to be just that - a tag for a challenge.

Once again a tall DL - got a pack of these so need to get using, LOL.
Free papers again from craft mag, edged with gold pen. The tag is one from a pair of jeans and is popped up with foam pads.

The tag is quite basic compared to some but it still took a while to do....and I like the result :)
I first painted front and back with white paint - remember it was just going to be a 'free standing' tag so needn't have done the back.
I then painted with lovely cheapo gold paint added glitter then stuck on some crumpled tissue paper and the greeting image with watered down PVA glue.
More gold paint, more glue and more glitter.
An organza bow, a glittery snowflake and computer generated banner with teacher's name and I thought that would do but it looked very bare and corners didn't work or any other embellies so after leaving it alone for an hour I had  a sudden 'ping' of inspiration and added two 'ribbon' strips cut from another of the free papers.

Christmas Thank You

********************

Yesterday we enjoyed the Christmas afternoon tea with sandwiches, cakes and and entertainment from the pupils at grandson's junior school.
The youngsters are always such attentive hosts and it is lovely to have them fuss over us fogeys, LOL.
We were treated to a few carols and the young musicians did their bit - some of them have only been learning to play their instruments for a few months - but they all did so well, bless em!

This is the Thank You card to the Headteacher, staff and pupils for such a splendid afternoon.

I have used my new die, Spellbinders garden weave. I ordered it Sunday and it arrived Tuesday morning, just in time to make this card last night.

The BP and flowers are from my craft mag.

I've layered three different sizes of the flowers and added some punched leaves on to a piece of well distressed music paper.
Then just the tag and I thought that was enough.

I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas at Crafty Ann's

*********************************************

I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas
~ white on white background with a coloured image/topper ~

This is the last challenge 0f 2012 and a new challenge will start in the new year
  4 January 2013

This lovely poinsettia is from the  Trad-Temporary Christmas digital scrapbook kit*
I  printed it on on photo paper and decoupaged three layers and I think  it looks real pretty.
A little tip (though maybe everyone does this already, lol)  - I don't like to see the white cut edges so I always go around the edge with a matching colour marker - this seems to give the layers more substance.

I've sparkled up the Nestie floral oval, some of the snowflakes and around the edges of the snowflake embossed BP.

Simply finished with some white organza ribbon found languishing in my stash.

I painted the snowflake - made with the XCut embossing punch - with iridescent medium and added glitter while wet, and added it to the bow.
Shame you can't see all the sparkle in this pic.

*Most if not all of the elements in any of the scrapbooking kits can be used for cardmaking, they are not just for scrapbookers :)

The lovely DT have made a great job of ths challenge and their samples are well worth a visit over at   CACB .
We hope you will play along with us for this final challenge of the year and look forward to seeing your White on White creations and wish you a Merry Christmas and very best wishes for 2013.

80th Birthday

*************

Commision for a gentleman who worked in the wages dept. at the Singer sewing machine factory in Glasgow  for many years.

I printed the Singer logo on to a small pay packet though I had to cut it down because it covered too much of the collaged background.

The greeting is made in Publisher, distressed with DI and added two gold dots.

Challenges
Joanna Sheen - anything goes
Alphabet - V is for vintage
Artistic Inspirations - anything goes
Nutcrafters #32 - numbers
