Memories are Made of This

************************

Memories are made of this
This can be interpreted in different ways.
Vintage style which could be anything (card, atc, bookmark, tag, gothic arch etc -
or you can go down the scrapbook page/mini album route with memories
of any vintage - even yesterday!

It is my lovely daughter and wonderful son-in laws wedding anniversary next month so I used the challenge to make a card for them.

I chose Embossed Hearts for the main BP and Polished Stone as a mat for the pic which is popped up with foam pads. The frame around the pic is made from the gold lace digi in the Traditional Christmas collection.

I cut a heart from white corrugated card, painted it with iridescent medium and added some fine glitter powder.

The extravagant bow is deliciously soft silk ribbon with a pearl button from my local haberdashers.  My DD's dress was made of wild silk so I have been very generous and parted with some of this gorgeous silk ribbon from Funkie Junkie Linda's boutique - well, as they say...she's worth it,  LOL.
The tassle trim is a wonderful match for the ribbon,
The words computer generated.

It would have been nice if I'd used flowers a that were a closer match to the colour of those in her bouquet but these were the nearest I had.
I do have some left from when I did the wedding flowers,  but they are too big for this card. - 19 years ago, which proves what a hoarder I am.
The bouquet  took days to make but we were all happy with the result and I was very proud of it.

We hope you will share your memories with us for this challenge - you really must pop over to CACB and see what delights the DT have come up with.for this challenge.

I'd also like to enter this into the following challenges
Papertake Weekly - bingo - ribbon, free (tassle trim) blooms

40th Birthday

************

Hello everyone and a big welcome to Andrea, a new follower :)

Commission - the brief was purple and yellow.

The gold centrepiece is a flattened piece of  a beer can, embossed with the textile EF and heat embossed  with gold EP.  I pasted the BP onto card and cut an oval in the centre and fixed it over the centrepiece with foam tape.
I made the oval sentiment in Publisher, cut around it with fancy scissors, edged with purple chalk pad and added that with foam pads to the gold centre.
Lots of flowers, ribbon and roses from WO and as it was a special card I parted with a fancy metal corner from Linda, Funky Junkie's Zibbet shop.
I made a box for this as it is rather bulky.

A closer look

Craft Punked - happy birthday/celebrations
Wild Orchid #52 - anything goes
Lexi's #67 - happy birthday

Friends Anniversary

******************

I hope this has arrived in Maine, USA.
Barbara and I have been friends since college - an amazing 54 years!!
We haven't seen each other for a few years now but still keep in touch. She is married to a lovely man, Doug, who was a master sergeant in the US Air Force.
It was 39 years ago that we had the pleasure of attending their wedding at RAF Chicksands, Bedfordshire.

~~~ Congratulations Barbara and Doug ~~~
The main BP (and the flower) from Papermania Rose Garden, again - I'm getting a lot of mileage from this pad :)
The other is a freebie in this months craft mag, a lovely match. Border cut with MS deep punch. Went round all the edges with french blue chalk pad.
I cut out a heart from corrugated card, spread some white acrylic paint on, then some DI and finally painted over with iridescent medium.
The flower is made with TH tattered floral garland die from Linda, Funky Junkie's Etsy shop. The pearl in the centre and the one on the bottom of the tag are made with petal pink liquid pearls - I sprinkled some sparkly dust on while they were still wet.
