New Baby

**********
Meet Oscar, isn't he a cutie!  Pictured here with proud 'Nana' Katie, my daughter's best friend.
She doesn't look anywhere near old enough to be a grandmother.....lucky girl.....and she will revel in her new role.

Sparkly heart given the glamour dust treatment, seam binding ribbon and WO blossom.

This is for the new parents and another pic of Oscar. I don't know how many hours old he was when this was taken but isn't he a darling......looks just like his daddy :-)
Did you notice how much he weighed!!

Seam binding ribbon and handmade flower and a close-up of Oscar :-)

Pretty Lady

************
I have  made this for the following challenges

Sketch and Stash #53 - Sketch
Crafty Sentiments - My favourite things - vintage, flowers, bling  and pretty paper
Kaboodle Doodles  #51 -  Bling it up
Penny's #45 - Anything goes

One of my saved vintage images and I merged her onto a frame which I have 'vintaged' with gold pentouch.
For a change there is a lot that is NEW on this card - the BP is from a new Paper Cellar pad bought at my local Dunelm which has just opened a little craft area.....whoopeee.
This is the first time I have used my NEW MS border punch and the BP is from Bearly Mine.
The middle flower I made the other evening..... along with a few others :-)
Edit: Here is the link to Mandy's flower tutorial

Of course it needed some bling so I've added clear gems...quite generous for me, lol. Ooops don't forget the pearl in the centre of my lovely flower.

Thank you for visiting today

Cheers me dears :-)

Crafty Ann's Challenge #33 - Golden Daffoldils

*********************************************

and the theme this fortnight has been chosen by Kym and is
'Silver, Gold and White'

I chose to use one of Ann's pre-coloured images........these lovely daffodils.........hopefully we'll all be seeing the real thing soon.

I have decoupaged the flowers and they are mounted on to a doily which I 'coloured' with Pentouch silver pen. Underneath this is a circle of silver mirri to give the doily more substance as it was rather flimsy. There is just a tiny bit of  sparkle on the very edge of the doily.
I was reluctant to detract from the daffodils so I embossed plain white paper with the CB  textures folder.

The brad in the centre of the ribbon bow has been given the glamour dust treatment

Finished off with peel-off borders and pretty  corners. A Clean & simple look I think.

I hope you will join us this fortnight and if you want some inspiration pop over to the challenge blog and see the fabulous designs from my DT buddies.

The CD Sunday Challenge

************************
I missed last weeks CD Sunday Challenge.  I liked the sketch but was busy with birthday cards for grandson and didn't get round to using it.

This week the theme is Waters Meet.
I chose to use this lovely old water scene - I can't acknowledge the origin....probably saved from one of the free vintage sites.

It is a bit of a  struggle  because I don't have many CD's for the challenge, so this week it had to be just BP and I  had a look in my limited MCS :-/
It is actually the Mildred square envelope from Deco Follies!! so underneath the boat scene is a lady in a rather fetching hat. Not a lot from a CD so I hope it is acceptable.

The 'net' strip is plasterboard tape and the embellishment is supposed to be seaweed..... you guessed that didn't you.

Thank you for stopping by and an extra thank you for all the lovely comments left recently...so very much appreciated

Cheers me dears :-)

Two more for Grandson

**********************
Not as 'boring' as the one from me & grandad hahahaha

I know there is a challenge at the moment for cards for a male but don't reckon these will qualify!!

I am chuffed with the BP I made for this first card.......I can do stripes :-)
Do you recognise the teddy, ooops, I meant teddys friend.....anyone of the male species is likely to know it is Kayla Collins who was in 'I'm a Celebrity'.
.

And here is Kelly Brook on holiday in the Bahamas.....hard life innit!!!
The BP here is from Crafty Ann's funky collection 2......just the right colour and I fancied it looked a bit like the sea.

Thank you for stopping by :-)

Black, White and Gold

*********************

I have some DL card blanks been festering away in a drawer for at least 2 years and as I fancied a play this afternoon this was a good time to use them.

I happy how this turned out considering I seldom use yellow/gold colours. I have to admit to LOVING these papers from Papermania Mono pack. Shame there is only one of each design.......means 'll have to get another pad.

Challenges
Fairytale Challenge #6 - Flowers
Kaboodle Doodles #50 - B & W + one other colour
Pear Tree Designs #32 -  Free for all
Pile it On #3 - Anything goes
Papertake - Ribbons & Pearls

I printed the greeting on to white paper and than put gome black glitter on the scallops...matted this on to another die cut from black card and fixed with foam tape

Grandaughter's 15th - card No: 2

*******************************

I fancied using blue and brown for the 2nd card for g/daughter and found this delightful young lady in my images file - I can't remember  where I got her from.....if anyone recognises her maybe you can let me know.   She reminds me of Milly when she was younger.

Incy Wincy #76 - Go dotty
Really Reasonable Ribbon #16 - Heart theme

Shabby???

**************
Challenges
The Shabby Tea Room #44 - Sketch
Whoopsie Daisy - No designer paper
CES #19 - No designer paper

The BP is plain cream paper embossed on one side with the texture folder and the other swiss dots.
I am very proud of the butterfly and the frame. The top wings of the butterfly are made of some pleated paper,  the lower from white tissue paper and the body is flat backed pearls stuck on to a thin sliver of card.
The frame was originally coloured and was one of the elements included with a digi paper collection.  I did a bit of altering in my DTP programme, cut it out and covered it with 3D Clear Gloss. I know you can buy proper and nicer frames but thought it would be 'fun' ??? to make my own :-)
The horizontal strip is made using my new MS corner punch...I folded some plain paper in half and then punched along the cut edge.
The flowers are seam binding ribbon.....I did some running stitches along one edge and then drew it up tight resulting in a cute little flower.

Other bits
A doily, pearls and lace

Thank you for stopping by
Cheers me dears  :-)

Crafty Ann's Challenge #32

***************************
the theme for this challenge is

Ring in the New but don't ring out the old!

Use something new and something old on your project. This could be something you got for Christmas or a new idea you got when blog hopping, and some stash or technique you've had for ages.

For my card I tried something new and that is the glazed butterfly. I'm sure a lot of you have already used this technique. Suzanne did a tut on her Creative Expressions blog and I thought it looked interesting.

I cut down a washed out baked bean can to use to melt the UTEE....the leftover has set in the can ready for another time.
Old is some BP from my files. I used polished stone for the mat and a flower from the Blossoms sheet . Loads of glitter on the flower
I scored the mat for a quilted effect, although tis a shame the pic doesn't show it too well.

Look at all that shine and sparkle :-)

Challenges I'd like to enter
Cute Card Thursday #147 - Monochrome
OLLCB #71 - Bling it on
The Creative Cottage #30 - Something new

The ideas my DT buddies have come up are fantastic as usual so do pop over to Crafty Ann's challenge blog to have a looksee and come and  play along with us

Thank you for stopping by..... I am looking forward to seeing your creations for this challenge

Granddaughter's 15th birthday

 ******************************

This is for my Granddaughter's 15th birthday. I am not happy with the design, too top heavy ....I should have looked  for a sketch to follow. The big star was supposed to be lower down, but as I was deciding where to place it, I dropped it.... it stuck.....so there it stayed.....flippin foam pads are too sticky by half  sometimes, lol.

Everything is from my new Papermania Rose Garden paper pad and I love all of the papers.
I wanted to use  stars on this and cos I don't have a star die I did these by hand. The words are printed on to  one of the pink designs, edged with Ash Rose chalk inkpad and matted onto silver mirri.
I made the rose from another of the  papers in the pad and love the way it turned out.

Challenges
Scrappy Frogs - Sentimental
Lexi's Creations #31 - Say it with love
Craft your Passion #40 - Tie it on
Top Tip Tuesday - Anything goes
If the Shoe Fits   Fashionista Friday #61 - Ribbons & bows

Other bits used -
Seam binding ribbon and red & white twine
A die cut from the paper pad
Leaves from crafty Ann

Thank you for stopping by and for all the recent lovely comments which are well appreciated

CD Sunday - New year - new to you

The aqua BP has been treated to the CB texture embossing folder and the edges distressed with ColorBox chalk inkpad yellow cadmium, another of my purchases yesterday.
