Silver Wedding Anniversary

 8 inch square

A request from my neighbour's mother for her eldest daughter and SIL.
I made a card for her husband's 80th ( the flugelhorn) a few weeks back so getting a second request from her I take as a compliment :-)
*The report from my nieghbour is that her Mum loved it! So that's it - mission accomplished :-)

I kept it simple

The bride had a red rose bouquet on the big day and as I only had one small pack of red roses I coloured one of my large Wild Orchid roses with a red copic and spritzed the lot with cosmic shimmer.

Of course I had to make a 'box'/wrapper. It is actually silver mirri card but you wouldn't guess from this pic, lol

Paper - digi design by Loretta Labarca from Daisy
Silver peel-offs!!

A Very Special Birthday

 8 inch square

About a year and a half ago I met a lovely lady who dialled a wrong number and got me instead.
Tomorrow she will be 95 years old - perhaps I should say 'young'  because she is as bright as a button and a joy to visit.
When I first visited her she was telling me about her family and I recognised her daughter's name - we went to the same school - how about that for coincidence.

I haven't seen her since Christmas so I will have the pleasure of calling round tomorrow with this card and some flowers.

I spritzed the rose with ruby red Cosmic Shimmer  to match the rose in the image

I started this before I went on holiday and have forgotten where I got this lovely  image but I can tell you it is printed on photo paper and, as you see, well distressed.

Papers - from the Sprout Collection from the Shabby Shoppe.
Large rose - Wild Orchid
Vintage seam binding ribbon - My Wedding Party, EBay shop
MS border punch
Pearls and small roses from my stash

I made a box embellished with more pretty pink seam binding and small pink roses

I have made this for the following challenges

Lexi's Creations #14 - Sketch - rotated
By the Cute and Girly -   Celebrations
CRAFT challenge  #51 - Birthday/celebrations
Papertake Weekly - Say it with flowers
Pixie Dust  challenge 23 - Add a pearl

Thank you for looking in today and for all the lovely encouraging comments left recently - each and every one is very much appreciated.

BLOG HOP and Challenge #15

 Sunny Daffodils

It's already time for challenge #15 at Crafty Ann's and we're having our very first BLOG HOP!
We're celebrating the launch of the Flower Collection of pre-coloured images. If you have come to me from seeing Lorraine's gorgeous work you are on the right lines but if not, you need to start at the beginning which is the challenge blog.
To be in with a chance of winning these two sheets from the new collection, just leave me a comment.

Don't forget to collect the two words you need from me which are:

MEDICINE, TO

When you leave here, your next stop will be Wendy who has some wonderful inspiration for you and two more sheets and two more words. When you have visited all the blogs you need to end up back at the challenge blog and follow the instructions on there to find out what to do to be in with a chance of winning the final 5 sheets.

I chose one of the gorgeous toppers from new Daffodils sheet for my challenge card. I have decoupaged the daffs with the unframed image.
The backing papers are from Ann's shop too and are Polished Stone - light green, and Abstract - golden yellow and these compliment the image perfectly.
An MS punched border, some pearls and a crinkly seam binding ribbon and all done!
This was such a pleasure to make and really quick using this image from the new collection.

Thank you for stopping by and 'Good Luck' in the blog hop :-)

And it's Goodbye from Me......

.....but just for two weeks.
We are going on holiday with son and family in the early hours.....
...well, that is the plan...........volcano ash cloud permitting.
My DD is stranded with three friends in Spain as I speak!
They should have flown home yesterday evening and everyone is hoping they will be home tonight.
This 4 night ''cheapy' break is turning out expensive........they have had to pay an extra £300 each for a flight.
I hope they will be able to claim it back on the insurance.

I am keeping my fingers crossed that my scheduled post for Crafty Ann's challenge #15 and Blog Hop  works OK. If any links don't work please accept my apologies in advance.

RightyOh, that's it from me for now. Be good and I'll see you when I get back :-)

Crafty Ann's Challenge #14 - DT card

 80th Birthday Card

Be sure to read to the end of the post for some exciting news

Crafty Ann's  Challenge #14   is 'Anything Goes' .
I chose Ann's Guitar digi image as I needed to make a card for a special birthday and this image was just perfect for what I had in mind.

The gentleman who will receive this is a retired music teacher who plays the guitar. I hope he doesn't try to read the music, hahaha - it is just a repeat of a small Penny Black stamp embossed with detail gold EP.

I 'paper pieced' the guitar using two different coloured wood patterned papers. I  sewed the strings on with plain ordinary cotton and the 'bits' for tightening the strings are gold brads and it is attached with foam pads

It did take a while to do....but I am rather proud of the result.

The image is  Crafty Ann's digi guitar
The scroll greeting is printed on to some parchment type paper and curled - as you can see - and there is another on the inside under the easel bit along with another couple of musical notes but I forgot to take a pic of that.

I do hope you will be able to join in with the challenge this time.  I will be away on holiday during the challenge but look forward to visiting your blogs and seeing what you come up with when I get back.

And don't forget to join us for the next challenge on 21st of May becuase we have our very first BLOG HOP to celebrate the launch of...................ooops, I can't tell you. You'll have to wait until the 21st to find out - but there are prizes to be won on every blog so don't forget to put the date in your diary

65th Birthday

Sketch and Stash challenge 34 has a nice sketch this week and I have used it to make this card for a friend who will be happy to be getting his pension and bus pass, hahaha.

I printed and cut the numbers from card and covered them with two of Crafty Ann's digi papers which have  matched well with the other BP's  two of  which are from this months Making Cards mag.
There is really not much more to say about this except.....Thank you for stopping by :-)

70th Birthday

A customer's friends celebrated two big birthdays this weekend, the lady's 70th and her husbands 80th.
This is the first card. She has a Westie so I hope she likes this little darling - isn't he/she just adorable.

Allsorts  challenge #50  this week is Animals
Creative Inspirations #58 is Easel cards
Daring Cardmakers challenge this week is also Easel cards

Thank you for stopping by and for leaving such lovely encouraging comments.
I hope you will stop by again :-)

I must apologise for my lack of  return visits lately. There are so many things that need my attention at the moment.  I hope to rectify this when I get back to normal after my hol.
