Rainbow Lady Challenge - 49

A5

The subject this week is 'People'
I wanted to do something B&W for a change and have used my favourite 'pretty lady' stamp.

The BP's are courtesy of Jak a most talented crafter and if you haven't already done so, do pay a visit.

A close up, but I don't think it shows up the little bit of sparkle I have added to her cap.

Thank you for your visit today and for any comments you have time to leave. Every one is appreciated, either good or bad!!

Get well

A5

For our lovely neighbour who is having a major operation on his back concerning a metal rod.
He is an F1 fan so hope this will cheer him up. I hope Lewis Hamilton is driving the right car. I think so but could be wrong. If it isn't I'm sure he'll have a laugh.

I think it may fit the Friday Sketchers challenge if a little 'artistic' licence is allowed!! There are such a lot of entries and the DT cards and entries are really pretty, so this may be considered a bit boring.

Thank you for popping in and for any comments which are greatly appreciated.

65th birthday

8" square

I had two commissions recently, one for the end of May and the other for August. I thought I'd get started, but have done the wrong one first.
So, I am well ahead!! this is not wanted until August.

A couple of close-up's.

The pretty lace and velvet ribbon is from my local haberdashers. The heart with 65 on was cut by hand and made sparkley with glitterey stuff. The two bows are made from the wrapping on some fruit and the Flora Doodles and pearls from Joanna Sheen

Oh, I do wish I could take a better pic. Lately they are either skew-wiff or out of focus. Sometimes, both together, arrrggghhh!!

Thanks for visiting and for any comments you are kind enough to leave.

60th Birthday Card

8" square

Daughter in Law asked for a card for her boss who will be 60 on Friday.

I did find it a bit of a job to keep it masculine. I find it much easier to make a girly card because I love to use lace and flowers and bling. Well!! all that was out so this has ended up quite plain.
The words are embossed with gold detail EP and the name CB'd and no.60 mounted on to one of the smaller 'label' nesties. I made the photo corners to match the label. The brown BP has also been run through the CB with the Swiss Dots folder. The ribbon is one from a mixture by Craft Essentials. Finished with a few punched leaves and a brad.
I have made a wrap from silver card with a printed greeting and tied with turquoise coloured ribbon.

Thank you for popping in and any comments you care to leave will be greatly appreciated.

Rainbow Lady challenge 47 - Fans

135mm square

Fans are the subject this week and I have chosen the image and BP's from Joanna Sheen's Tales of the Orient

I was happy to be able to use this because I have been having trouble opening CD's.
I really love the colours of this card. The BP was layered before printing. The fan is decoupaged and I made a little tassle with embroidery thread.

I appreciate your visit and thank you for any comments you are kind enough to leave.

Dylan's card

My great nephew will be 7 next week (flippin 'eck, that makes me feel old).
I hope he doesn't mind the little dog in the image but I couldn't find a suitable one with a rabbit that was not too young for him!

The BP's were printed from freedigitalscrapbooking.com designed by Marie Stones.

Thank you for visiting and for any comments you are kind enough to leave.

Decoupage

I entered one of my cards into the January competition on Kaz's forum (Crafty Ideas by Kaz) and it was chosen runner up!
Kaz kindly donated prizes and I made these cards with two of the many decoupage sheets I received. My decoupage usually consists of just one extra layer so it was quite a challenge for me cutting out the 'little' bits :-)
I am pleased how they turned out and will give the garden one to my neighbour for her birthday in May.

The black looking oval is actually silver mirri card.

Thank you for visiting and for any comments you might care to leave.

Sketch Saturday - 37

Phew! I didn't think I'd manage to do anything for this weeks challenge but got down to it tonight.
What with annoying sciatica, finding a budgie in the garden on Tues and minding 6yr old because of school closure, my time and energy seems to have been taken up leaving little time to play.

I like this art deco image by Alphonse Mucha and usually use it full size. The pink BP's are two of Verena Karoli's designs. The round green mat has been embossed with the swiss dots folder, but it is not very obvious so really needn't have bothered to do it!!
The camera is not showing the true colours. The punched flowers are actually a dark pink although they look more like orange in the pic!

Thank you for visiting and for any comments you may wish to make :-)

Take it easy!

I made this for a customer of my daughter. She has just started her maternity leave.
I did want an image from Joanna Sheen's baby love CD but my PC is playing up and I can't open the images. I settled for this as the nearest I could get.

I made an extra layer of the baby and the stork just to 'pop' it a little.

Thanks for popping by. Your comments are very much appreciated.

Card for a 6yr old

Made yesterday for g/sons friend. They are both Star Wars fans so there was no contest re. the subject for his card. Stan has a rare bowel disorder and is unable to go to school but is having a little party at one of our local indoor play areas.

Happy birthday Stan xxx

Thank you for visiting. As always your comments are very welcome - thank you!

Sketch and Stash challenge 3

The only thing I am happy concerning this card is the delightful image. For a change I am happy with my colouring. I think I might be getting there at last :-)
I changed my mind so many times while doing this challenge that I eventually lost the plot.
*Can you believe it, I didn't notice until I looked at the pic that the sentiment is skewiff. Darn it!!!

The stash is one of the the new images from Pollycraft, gorgeous isn't it? I want them all.

Thanks for looking in. As always your comments are thoroughly appreciated - thank you.

Magnolia

A5 Side opening

This is my first pyramid card (or is it pyramage).
Thank you to Jak (Crafters Kitchen) for these lovely images and BP's she has kindly left on her blog as a free download.

I had a lot of bother trying to print out the images on to photo paper. I wasted 4 sheets but glad to say I got there in the end. The two layers are matted on to silver mirri.

It is such a beautiful image and I am very pleased with the end result.

Thank you for popping by today. Your comments are very welcome and greatly appreciated.

Valentine

Quite a while ago I remember seeing a 'sideways heart' card. I wish I could remember who made it so that I could give credit. Alas, my memory fails me. Whoever it was, "Thank you" for the idea.

The BP is Laura Ashley Love Song and it is flocked. It is very pretty paper and it is a shame I covered so much of it up!
For quite a simple card it took me a few hours to make, mainly because of all the cutting out and also that I couldn't find the wire I wanted.

This fits Joanna Sheen's February challenge as the subject is 'Hearts'.

Thank you for your visit. Your comments are really appreciated.

Sketch Saturday - 36

I really didn't like it and just had to change it so here is the 2nd version LOL
Seems I can't do anything right today. what a blurry pic!

A poor effort but I'll give it DD for SIL. I made a bad choice of BP cos I am being a cheapskate and trying to use up my odd bits.
I love the image which is
a cute freebie from Paula at Tales from Pollycrafts. Thank you very much Paula it is really lovely.
