Golden Wedding

A5 size

We are invited to the Golden Wedding celebration of a chap who hubby used to work with. It will be a nice change to see them at this special occasion as usually we only see them at funerals
So, on Saturday night it's on with the slap and the glad rags. I guess hubby will be busy recalling old times and I'm sure I'll find someone to chat with.

I spent most of yesterday evening making this card. Gone over the top a bit with the flowers lol. The one in the middle is a Syntego flower bought from Joanna Sheen some time ago.

The sentiment on the front is gold embossed on pearly card and that and the BP are edged with gold pen. The BP is Laura Ashley (another piece from my Christmas pressie) and the main cardstock is a a nice soft gold. Added a bit of bling and organza ribbon.

This is the box and it took me nearly as long to make this as it did the card.
I kept getting the measurements wrong and it took me 3 goes to get the base right.
Never mind I got there in the end. I kept it simple because of the acetate aperture.

A close up of the bouquet!

Thank you for dropping by today, Your comments are really appreciated
Wishing you all a
Happy, Healthy and Peaceful 2009

Card for DIL's sister

My DIL asked for two cards for her sister's birthday on New Years eve. She chose the one I made for Sketch Saturday challenge and I personalised it for her by adding a tag.

This one is for my grandson to give to her. I was a bit stumped so resorted to using a photo of him.

I used my new round nesties recently bought from Joanna Sheen. The greeting was printed directly on to the BP and I chose the colours with the help of the Palette Generator to match the photo which is mounted with foam pads. Finished with silver grey ribbon and a flower fixed with a gold brad. A nice simple card really, that only took a few minutes rather than the usual hours I spend deciding what to do.

Thank you for visiting today. Your comments are greatly appreciated.

Sketch Saturday - Your Choice

This is the first time I've submitted a card for Sketch Saturday.
I like using sketches and I promised myself that I would try to join in more challenges so this is it.
The brief is to choose any of the previous sketches so I chose No: 29.

The image is one of some kindly sent to me by Chrissie. Thank you Chrissie, I am learning to colour them nicely :-)
My dear daughter bought me two Laura Ashley 12x12 paper packs and I have used just a little bit of one of the papers in the Love Song pack. She also gave me 3 tubes of matching ribbons (18 rolls) and a pack of embroidered brads. Chuffed to bits I am!!

Thank you for looking. Your comments really are appreciated.

Award

I have felt a bit out of sorts lately and this award from Sheena certainly cheered me up.
Thank you so very much Sheena :-)

The rules are:
Link to whoever gave you the award and pass it on and link to 5 others.
You also have to write down 5 things you are addicted to!

1. Cardmaking!!
2. Crafty blog trawling
3. Wine gums
4. Buying craft stash
5. My family who always come first, yes, even before crafting

And now I have to pass the award on to 5 others. As Sheena said, this is a difficult task. Every one my blogging buddies deserve it. All fabulous blogs.

My five are
Ann, Beryl, Sandie, , Cynthia & Suzanne

Thank you all for all your encouragement, inspiration and giving me the chance to see your wonderful work.

Two cards today

Every other Wednesday I pick up my widowed friend and we go to the local club. This week it is the birthday of our local Country & Western singer who plays there and there will be a bit of a party. He has backed some famous names both here and in the US and is quite a character
I hope he will like this.

My daughter requested a card to send to the little boy one of her customers.
This is the 4th Christmas card so far this year. I still have cards to do for my son and DIL and daughter and SIL and 3 to for my grandchildren. That will be it for this year. I confess that everyone else will be sent a bought one. I just don't have the time to do many hand-made ones. Anyway I'd rather do any card other than Christmas.

They are both decoupaged so will fit the Joanna Sheen weekly challenge.

Thank you for looking. Your comments are really appreciated.

13th Birthday

A different number for a change. I do enjoy making the number templates so this made a change from the no:40.
It is for my husband's, cousin's granddaughter, phew!
We will be going to her party on Saturday. It will be good to meet up with the family and we'll have a lot of catching up to do. A few quiet drinks could well end up being a lot of noisy ones!!

I didn't make this template. It is one from Sara at Time for Crafting.
Mine are usually tent fold templates but I thought this side opening one would make a change.

Thank you for looking. Your comments are really appreciated.

Rainbow Lady's Challenge 40

My first card for December and Snowmen is the subject of the challenge this week and you wouldn't believe how long it took me to come up with this. I have to confess it is only the third Christmas card I've made this year. I decided to only make a few specials this year and as time is running out it looks as though it really will be only a few.
I have to make about 80 cards for my daughter's customers each year so I find I don't get much joy in making Christmas cards.

The snowmen were printed directly on to an A6 card. The tree is a freebie from Kerry Steptoe (thank you Kerry) and cut from card and coloured with my limited collection of copics. There are some sparkly dots on the tree and it is topped with a bow. It is fixed with foam pads

Thank you for looking in today. All your comments are greatly appreciated.
