Butterflies in Blue

******************
I've long admired those definition background stamps - among other things, lol, but the craft budget is somewhat restricted
So I found the definition of  'niece'  from the OED, (I've done friend as well) chose a brown colour and made my own.
It is printed on to canvas paper (an Aldi bargain last week) and aged with blending chalk and I'm real pleased with the result.

The butterflies are from Wings & Flowers CD. I love the content of this CD but do wish it was possible to export to a graphics prog. I managed in the end but it was a struggle to get the b/flies where I wanted.

One layer is printed directly on to the b/ground. I printed  the two large b/flies on to photo paper and shaped and layered these on top. The sentiment is printed directly on to the b/ground too.
The inspiration for this came from the 'Butterflies in Blue' article in last Sept Making Cards mag.

This is just gorgeous Irene, great idea to use the OED, and a lot cheaper than buying loads of stamps

This is definitely right for the challenge ... a lovely card
... when I first started with digital ... took me a while to figure it out but now it's second nature ... best thing to do is write it down as you do it then you won't forget ... Thanks for playing along at CCCB !
