New Baby

*******

I haven't done any colouring in for ages and it took me three attempts to colour this stamp. Also I've been soooo busy making cards I haven't had time to blog - AND I've got loads of emails in my inbox that need attention.

I used my NEW - and one and only - M-Bossabilities folder (Imperial ) for the background. This is such a bad pic but the best I could do. It is not much clearer even if you click the pic.
* New photo's - a bit better than the originals lol.

Another new aquisition is the lovely Floral Ovals die. I will be using this and the folder a lot :)
The sentiment circle was made in Publisher as usual.
Both of these are fixed with foam tape/pads

Finished with seam binding ribbon and bow and  flower.

Challenges
Card Crafter's Circle #35 - Oh baby!
Chocolate, Coffee & Cards  #19 - emboss
Crafty Catz #145 - anything goes

80th Birthday

************

This is for my son in law's Dad from him and my daughter.
I am working on two more, one  for the grandchildren and one from us.

Papers are by Summer Driggs
I printed the light patterned paper on card, cut a hole in it and added gold 'string' and adhered with foam tape. The flourish was not planned but I accidentally made a smear of gold pen so had to cover it with something, lol.
The three sentiment circles are made in Publisher and also stuck on with foam tape.

My cutting out of the circle was quite neat but I went around it with a fine peel off to finish it off.

Challenges
Crafty Sentiments - use numbers
Alphabet Challenge - for men only
Bearly Mine  #46 - anything goes
Come and Get It - adult birthday card- chosen as one of the Top 3 :)
Kaboodle #130 - birthday or special day - missed it!

Hubby's Birthday

***************

I don't know what you think but I thought it was quite witty - mabe just my warped sense of humour, lol.
He said he wanted to swap the numbers round for this birthday. Well he definitely wouldn't get away with that, but when you look at this in the mirror it reads  27 - that is as near as he is going to get, hahahaha.

It was a very cheap card to make.
The BP is a freebie from my craft mag
The greeting and sentiment printed on to some scrap card and matted onto silver mirri
Numbers made in Word and cut from silver mirri fixed with foam tape

* Proud to be one of the Top 3

Circles at Crafty Ann's - Challenge #71

*********************************

...and this fortnight's theme is...

Circles
~ there needs to be more than one on your project please ~.

The Olympics may give you some inspiration but I have, perhaps predictably, gone down the vintage route.

The main BP's are embossed dots and mottled stone, edges distressed with frayed burlap DI - the white frame and the bow are from the Tempting Turquoise digital scrapbook kit .  The  gold behind the frame is one of the metallic papers and the pearl - I added the sentiment digitally - is from the Cream Dream kit.  All can be found here in  the digi shop

The fashionable ladies image is from one of the free vintage digital sites, which one I forget.

I covered the join with this lovely lace and finished off with the flower and leaves

We hope you will be able to play along with us for this lovely circles challenge - Olympics or not - whatever you choose.
There is plenty of fabby inspiration by the DT to be found over at CACB  if you care to pop in and have a look-see :) and then add your own circle creations.

I'd also like to enter this into the following challenges

Silver Wedding Anniversary

*************************

Commission

The main layer is scored with 1" diagonals and matted on to the base card with foam tape. There are three layers of ovals - the bottom layer is silver mirri card cut with fancy scissors (you can't see this too well in the pic). The 'fancy' oval layer was embossed with the CB texture EF and painted with iridescent medium. The greeting is computer generated and these top two layers adhered with foam tape.

The gorgeous lace is from Linda, Funkie Junkie's boutique and flowers bought at a craft fair last year.
The seam binding ribbon is Cadbury chocolate purple - it looks a bit dark here and is actually much lighter IRL.

CACB #70 - Easel Cards

*********************

Easel Cards/Projects

I haven't made an easel card in quite a while and enjoyed making this one.

I love the Poinsettia with Script digi and the best thing is that it is pre-coloured - such a bonus if you are strapped for time.
I love the other colours too but went with this green border one for my card today.

This beautiful  backing paper is from the Traditional Christmas Scrapbook Kit.  It really is the most gorgeous red.
I finished the card simply, with just a red organza bow.

I hope you will join in this challenge with your easel cards.
The DT have some gorgeous designs for your inspiration over at Crafty Ann's so do pop over to see them.

Meerkat Greetings

*****************
I've been having troubles but still have a few cards to post on the blog.

I am also struggling a little not being on my own computer!!

At the moment I am staying at my DD's and  minding the store for her while she has a break with her family. I don't help her out so often now and luckily for me I haven't been inundated with orders.......so far!!

A bit of fun for hubby's birthday from the grandchildren.

We all love the Meerkats ads and it is so kind of Aleksandr to loan me his photo for these cards.
I'm sure you'll guess that the words need to be read in Aleksandr's Russian accent, LOL.

Paper piecing is a new technique for me so I've gone for something CAS, something else I rarely do.
The image is the lovely morning glory printed directly on to cream coloured card. The flowers are pieced with the bright pink from the Polished Stone collection and the leaves with one of the Abstract collection from Crafty Ann's digi shop.

I hope you will join us for this challenge.

Memories are Made of This

************************

Memories are made of this
This can be interpreted in different ways.
Vintage style which could be anything (card, atc, bookmark, tag, gothic arch etc -
or you can go down the scrapbook page/mini album route with memories
of any vintage - even yesterday!

It is my lovely daughter and wonderful son-in laws wedding anniversary next month so I used the challenge to make a card for them.

I chose Embossed Hearts for the main BP and Polished Stone as a mat for the pic which is popped up with foam pads. The frame around the pic is made from the gold lace digi in the Traditional Christmas collection.

I cut a heart from white corrugated card, painted it with iridescent medium and added some fine glitter powder.

The extravagant bow is deliciously soft silk ribbon with a pearl button from my local haberdashers.  My DD's dress was made of wild silk so I have been very generous and parted with some of this gorgeous silk ribbon from Funkie Junkie Linda's boutique - well, as they say...she's worth it,  LOL.
The tassle trim is a wonderful match for the ribbon,
The words computer generated.

It would have been nice if I'd used flowers a that were a closer match to the colour of those in her bouquet but these were the nearest I had.
I do have some left from when I did the wedding flowers,  but they are too big for this card. - 19 years ago, which proves what a hoarder I am.
The bouquet  took days to make but we were all happy with the result and I was very proud of it.

We hope you will share your memories with us for this challenge - you really must pop over to CACB and see what delights the DT have come up with.for this challenge.

I'd also like to enter this into the following challenges

40th Birthday

************

Hello everyone and a big welcome to Andrea, a new follower :)

Commission - the brief was purple and yellow.

The gold centrepiece is a flattened piece of  a beer can, embossed with the textile EF and heat embossed  with gold EP.  I pasted the BP onto card and cut an oval in the centre and fixed it over the centrepiece with foam tape.
I made the oval sentiment in Publisher, cut around it with fancy scissors, edged with purple chalk pad and added that with foam pads to the gold centre.
Lots of flowers, ribbon and roses from WO and as it was a special card I parted with a fancy metal corner from Linda, Funky Junkie's Zibbet shop.
I made a box for this as it is rather bulky.

A closer look

Friends Anniversary

******************

I hope this has arrived in Maine, USA.
Barbara and I have been friends since college - an amazing 54 years!!
We haven't seen each other for a few years now but still keep in touch. She is married to a lovely man, Doug, who was a master sergeant in the US Air Force.
It was 39 years ago that we had the pleasure of attending their wedding at RAF Chicksands, Bedfordshire.

~~~ Congratulations Barbara and Doug ~~~
The main BP (and the flower) from Papermania Rose Garden, again - I'm getting a lot of mileage from this pad :)
The other is a freebie in this months craft mag, a lovely match. Border cut with MS deep punch. Went round all the edges with french blue chalk pad.
I cut out a heart from corrugated card, spread some white acrylic paint on, then some DI and finally painted over with iridescent medium.
The flower is made with TH tattered floral garland die from Linda, Funky Junkie's Etsy shop. The pearl in the centre and the one on the bottom of the tag are made with petal pink liquid pearls - I sprinkled some sparkly dust on while they were still wet.
