Crafty Ann's Challenge 11

Here is my second Guest Designer card for Crafty Ann’s Challenge 11

This fortnight’s theme is to make a card, gift or memento for someone special.

I have made this to give to hubby for our anniversary at the end of the month.
I will add a tag - ‘To my Husband’ - nearer the time.
Although it won’t be a surprise as he has seen it already

The image is one of Ann’s Digi Downloads - Music Collage 2 -
I coloured with copics and have added some 3D clear gloss to the guitar body for added shine.
The main BP is from Ann’s Embossed Hearts – Earth Tones Collection.
Ann has loads of lovely digi stamps and BP's
The mat has been embossed with birds and swirls CB folder with rounded corners and I used an MS border punched on one side - then inked the edges.
I made the 'Happy Anniversary' ticket, cut the corners with my circle punch and aged it with my favourite Creamy Brown ColorBox chalk inkpad.

I have enjoyed this experience as a guest designer and maybe one day, I hope, I will have the opportunity to repeat it.
My thanks to Ann and the Design Team for making me feel so welcome :-) It has been an honour to work with you this month.

Golden Wedding

I have to admit to having a bit of a struggle with this card.
The anniversary couple are both Welsh and daffodils, leeks and the Welsh dragon were suggested. I managed 2 out of 3 - not bad. :-)
I took the photo from the invitation and was pleased it copied OK.

The idea of the scroll came to me in the early hours yesterday which was just as well because I didn't want to clutter up the base part of the card.

I embossed two large brads with gold EP for the 'stops'. The daffodils are printed on to some patterned paper and matted on to green card.
The edges are done with gold pentouch and fine peel-offs.

Thank you for stopping by and for all the lovely comments left recently. Each and every one very much appreciated.

Spring

Carol's Sketch Fun 22 - Carol has provided quite an unusual sketch for Challenge 22.

I was a little bit out of my comfort zone with this...I haven't made a DL card for a long time.

On Monday my postie surprised me with a wonderful gift from my lovely friend Kym.
She knows I don't have very many stamps so she sent me some stamped images and this is one of them.
A few posts ago she showed a card she said she made with a gift inside for a friend. I wasn't to know at the time that it was for me :-)
It was such a kind thought and a lovely surprise :-)

BP - free from Making Cards mag...I'm being very thrifty
Image - Anya (from Kym)
Ribbon and punched flowers
Holographic mirri card
Peel-off butterfly on copic coloured paper

This also fits a number of other challenges with a spring theme

Fussy and Fancy 6 - green
Allsorts 44 - spring is in the air
SCSC 75 - spring has sprung
Flutter by Wednesday 101 - green
Anyone for Anya - spring fever
Crafty Catz 24 - spring
Creative Inspirations 52 - white, yellow, green
Simon Says - show us your greens
Pile it On 10 - pastels

I must apologise for not doing my regular blog visiting.
I have been comandeered by hubby to help in the garden, so now, not only do I need a cook and a cleaner, it looks like a gardener is needed too, hahahaha.

Thank you for stopping by :-)

Oriental Fan

I originally started to make this card to enter Cynthia's (Rainbow Lady) challenge but missed the deadline....not by a whisker but by 3 days!!!

Although I couldn't find a sketch suitable for the fan, it does fit the following challenges.

SCSC 74 - Anything goes
Dutch Dare 73 - Colour inspiration
Lili of the Valley 48 - Easel card

I haven't made an oriental card for a long time and when sorting out some paper I thought this was the way to go with this pattern.
I had to use a black copic to colour 3 pearls - a sacriledge and a very painful experience. Not one I hope to repeat too often, but I needed something as an extra 'stop' to the LHS and pearly pearls or gems didn't look right and the flower looked best to the RHS.

BP - DCWV - B&W prints stack
Tassle and coin from Joanna Sheen
Flower from Wild Orchid
Nellie Sneddon frame die
Two layers of the fan printed on to photo paper.

Thank you for stopping by and all the encouraging comments left recently.
Each and every one greatly appreciated.

My First GD Card!!!

I am absolutely delighted that my first GD spot is for Crafty Ann’s Challenge Blog
I was thrilled to bits to be chosen for March as it is my birthday and anniversary month.
Thank you Ann, for giving me this opportunity :-)

This fortnight’s theme is a colour challenge and you must include Lilac, Pink and Lemon in your project

The flower is one of Ann’s Digi Downloads printed on to paper stamped with words and inked edges.
I filled the centre of the flower with Cosmic Shimmer Glitter Flakes.
The BP’s are from Ann’s Polished Stone collection. I used a MS border punch for the strip and a Fiskars corner punch

Ink pads - ColorBox fluid chalks - Creamy brown,Rouge, Wisteria
Flower - Crafty Ann’s - 3D short petal flower
BP’s - Crafty Ann’s polished stone collection
Circle - Nellie Sneddon multiframe

Flower and Butterflies

I was having a sort out, eeek - not something that happens very often - and found these papers and designs from a Making Cards mag published
last August
!!!

They are very pretty, although the cutting out was a tad fiddly.
I stamped a small butterfly on the matching blue paper and the mats are silver mirri card.

I made this with the following challenges in mind

Mojo Monday 129 - sketch
Magical Crafts 10 - things with wings
Polka Doodles 9 - wings and stamping

A closer view....

BP's - Crafty Ann's polished stone
MC mag - BP & images
Organza ribbon salvaged from an old card

Thanks for stopping by

OCC & Ool-la-la

Our Creative Corner - Sketch
Ool-la-la 9 - Anything goes

I used a corner stamp, embossed with gold EP to make the central mat and then brayered it with a brown ink pad using my homemade brayer. It looked a bit ordinary so I gently inked the edges with ColorBox Burnt Sienna.
After taking the pic I made the 'Happy Birthday' tag a few shades darker and it looks much better for it.

Thank you for looking in today :-)

Mothers day

I lost my dear Mum 23 years ago so always make a card for my lovely aunty, who was, and still is like a second mum to me anyway.

Not surprisingly there are a lot of challenges with a Mothers day theme

I have used Carol's sketch turned sideways
Magical Crafts challenge 9 - something for a Mum
C.R.A.F.T challenge 40 - Mothers Day/Flowers
My Time to Craft challenge 81 - Just for Mum
Simon Says - Mothers Day or Girly
The Pink Elephant - add green to your colour combo
Totally Papercrafts challenge 6 - Mothers day/ Special lady - Edit: Oooops, this is limited to 5 challenges, and amazingly I've done 7

BP's are again from the free collection in the Making Cards mag.
I have used Crafty Ann's lovely flower again and added some ribbon to the centre.
I have had the little corner stamp for so long I can't remember who made it.

Thanks for looking in today.

Red, Red Wine

This is for another of my daughter's friends who is celebrating his 50th birthday today.
Fortunately the
Lili of the Valley challenge 48 is to make an easel card and
Allsorts challenge 42 is Just for Men

I used the Arty Farty celebration bottle again, but I reduced it in size to fit this A5 size easel card.

The grapes pic is courtesy of Google, printed on to photo paper. I managed to make a colour for the lower BP to match. I then digitally added bunches of grapes although they are difficult to see in the pic.
It is finished with some labels with the necessary info and greeting.

I had some lovely cards for my birthday on Thursday, otherwise it was an uneventful day.
Had to take son to local hospital for a routine endoscopy then had a wander around Kettering checking out the shops.
Lunch out was a baguette bought from the coffee shop in the shopping centre.....I could get used to living the high life......... hahaha
Thank you for the beautiful card Chrissie...it will stay on display for quite a while yet :-)

Thank you for your stopping by, and any comments you have time to leave are really appreciated.

Made by Milly

It looks like I've got serious competition.
I had an unexpected visit from my granddaughter on Wednesday.
She wanted to make a card for one of her friends.
I think she has done real well...she chose everything herself and only had a little bit of help with putting the DST on the edge of the BP.
She used quite a lot of glitter on the two tags, good job I've got a big pot of it.

Didn't she do well :-)

A bottle of fizz

Crafty Ann's Challenge 9 is to..." get out of your comfort zone and celebrate your creativity by trying a technique, product, fold or design you have been shying away from or haven't done or used as often as you'd like"

This did take me out of my comfort zone because the last time I used the Celebration template was for my daughter's 40th, 2yrs ago, and also because it is for a special occasion I didn't want to mess it up. The black mirri card marks so easily.
It seems much longer than 2yrs though....so many more cards 'under the bridge' since then
This one is for the daughter of a friend. I am happy to say she was very pleased with it when I gave it to her this evening....I hope her daughter will be too.

The base card is ivory pearlescent and the bottle is mirri card.
I had forgotten what a job it is to get anything to stick to pearly card and the bottle kept popping up at the side. I managed in the end by hatch scoring to give the DST some grip.
There is a little mountain of foam pads under the main part of the bottle to give it lift graduating down to two at the neck.

The number 40 is attached to a white wire spiral and the flowers were sprayed with my new Irridescent Gold glimmer mist. I am a bit disappointed with it...I expected it to be more obvious...it is a shame that it hardly shows. At £8/bottle it will get used though. I expect it is better used on darker materials.

Lexi's Creations challenge 8 this week is 'Anything Goes' so I'd like to enter this too.

Thank you for stopping by and for all the wonderful comments I have received on recent cards.
