Hearts

A side opening A5

Crafty Ann's challenge 7 is Metallic...colours, paper, embellishments etc
and I have used
Carols Sketch 19
Fussy & Fancy challenge 3 - is Hearts
Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge 68 - Hearts
Polka Doodles challenge 4 - is also Hearts

For a change, I have followed the sketch quite accurately :-) although I've yet to add a sentiment

The main metal element is the biggest heart. It is made from Metal Magic stamped with black stazon. I used one of the lovely Penny Black stamps I received in Kym's blog candy.
You can visit Kym here and see her latest wonderful display of cards for the Haiti Earthquake Appeal.

The hearts are raised with foam pads and two have a glittery edge.

Papers - Easter Joy from Studio Girls
Heart - Metal Magic
Stamp - Penny Black heart
Gold Mirri card, ribbon and flower from stash

Stop Press - I am thrilled to say that I have been invited by Crafty Ann to be a guest designer along with Linda for two challenges in March. Definitely chuffed but I am also very nervous too,

Thank you for stopping :-)

In the Pink

I just had to play with this little darling again, she is so lovely.

It is made with these challenges in mind

Cute Card Thursday challenge 97 is 'Blooming Gorgeous'
Crazy 4 Challenges 21 is Pretty in Pink
Creative Inspirations - Feminine
My Time to Craft - Elegant Rose
The Pink Elephant 51 - Polka Dots, a bow and pink

I used one of Crafty Ann's digi frames, enlarged it to fit A5 size and with a bit of fiddling made it into a top fold card.
I isolated the bow, printed it out on the pink spotty paper and fixed it over the original bow with silicone to give it some shape.

A sideways view...the image circle is fixed with foam pads

Another poor close up...I am sure I've got the camera on the right setting but they all turn out the wrong colour...aaaaggghhh.

Digi image - Cute Daisy May
Papers - forgotten as they were printed a while ago
Flowers - Wild Orchid
Leaves - punched from green inked paper

Thanks for stopping by

Key of the Door

8inch square

A 21st birthday comission

Another biggie.
I enjoyed making this but spent too much time faffing around as to what papers to use...this seems to be the norm lately.
I have also had to make a wrapper again as I don't have envelopes for this size.

I have used the lovely sketch at Carol's Sketch Fun 18
Icy Wincy Designs want to see buttons, bows, ribbon, and lace!!!!
A Spoonful of Sugar challenges us to layering.
At Dottie's World the theme is leaves. There are also leaves on the BP.
Raise the Bar - use something given to you....the key charm
Pile it On - Warm Wishes

I used one of the gorgeous charms I won from Crafty Catz...I can be generous, after all, it is a special card :-)

A funny coloured pic of the number 21 cut from gold mirri card and a handmade flower.

Image - Madison from Charmed Cards
Papers - Susan's Crafty Chaos

Black and Gold

This is for my sister's birthday on Monday. I have some nice black cardstock with a finely ribbed finish and thought it about time I used it so I have done lots of gold embossing on it.

Crafty Ann's Challenge 6
is Embossing and this will be the second card I've entered.

The black top panel is edged with a fine peel-off border then layered onto gold mirri card with foam tape

I don't know what my sis will think of being given a black card but it does look rather nice...if I say so myself.
Unfortunately I haven't done a very good job with the photo...it does look nicer in real life....honest.

The double layer of the butterfly wings are shaped and held up nicely thanks to a generous blob of silicone.

I've added some bling on the tips of the antennae and down the b/fly's body.

The 'sister' sentiment oval took some doing....but I managed it by printing the word on to some cream pearly card and then quickly embossed it...cut around it and used it as a template on a piece of the black then cut around it with fancy scissors.
These two are layered together and fixed to the last one with foam pads.
The larger oval was printed on the reverse of some gold mirri card and edged with more of the fine peel-offs. I did actually cut it quite smoothly but the peel-offs match the top layer as well as hide any unevenness there might have been.

Thank you for stopping by...I love to read your comments...so 'thank you' if you have time to leave one.

The Kingfisher

150mm

Yet another easel card....I think I may be slightly adddicted to these :-)

I've made this in response to a request for a card for someone who loves kingfishers.
I have to agree they are such delightful birds.

I've kept it simple...just this delightful image matted on to silver holographic mirri card and fixed with foam tape.
The BP is a freebie from Jak (Crafters Kitchen), gold leaf.
I opened it in Photoplus and 'cut out' a square, pasted it into my DTP prog and put a frame around it in this pretty blue. This is a neat way and doesn't waste paper with matting and of course also saves on printer ink.

I still think it needs something more but can't think what....flowers and ribbon don't feel right....so unless someone can come up with a bright idea... this is it.

I added an extra layer to the kingfisher and he really looks like he is sitting on the branch

Thank you for stopping by.... see you again soon :-)

Another Easel Card

My second easel card.

I have made this for
Crafty Ann's challenge 6 - Embossing

Cute Daisy May challenge - Flowers and Ribbon, (when I can get onto the blog....seems there is something wrong there at the moment)

I used the Allsorts sketch but missed the deadline for the challenge

I embossed the blue circle with Swiss Dots in my bug and heat embossed the border stamp with Seafoam white

Thanks for stopping by ...see you again soon, I hope :-)

My First Easel card

Presenting my first easel card....ta-daaaa!!!

I have to say I am really happy with this...even though it took an age to make.
Lots of matting and layering...the sentiment is printed on some pearly paper and embossed with silver. There is a little silver embossed flower on the 'stop' but you can't see it in the pic.

I have used the sketch from Truly Scrumptious but forgot to use the optional colours and had chosen these lilac papers. Oooops, too late now.

A sideways view

A closer look

I have made this for grandaughter from her Mum & Dad...the sentiment gives a bit of a clue, lol.
Now it is finished I really don't think it particularly suitable...a bit too grown up for a 14yr old.
My excuse is that I couldn't make up my mind re. a nice image and I'm still not able to print anything new.
If I have time I might do another...I'll see what DD says tomorrow.

For my Grandaughter

My lovely grandaughter Emily will be 14 on Saturday...I know we all say it, but where have all those years gone...

I think I've made a pizza here...sooo many different toppings...heeheee

Well, you know how it goes....I wanted to use the Frilly Millie image from Pink Petticoat, not only because I like it and think she will too, but because I've always called her Milly...and of course I had to fit on a large no. 14....then I just HAD to add a little bit of ribbon and a flower....and it wouldn't have been complete without a sentiment.... so here it is... Milly's pizza !!

Since I took the pic I've added some sparkle with glitter glue to the spots on the dress, the flower and around the sentiment tabs

A closer look

This was when the birthday girl
was about 3 months old,
hiding amongst
her teddies

Thank you for taking the time to visit....I've received some really lovely comments recently....thank you so much...it really means a lot

Two Challenges

The Magical Crafts Challenge No:6 is Vintage and I have used the lovely sketch at
Mojo Monday week 121

The lighting is so bad I haven't been able to get a decent pic

Perhaps the colours do look a bit nearer true in this close up...but then again maybe not...

Once again, I am using papers that I have already printed, so can't say where they are from.
I've added three buttons with a gem in the centre and a little bit of sparkle to this lovely lady's dress.
The image is one I saved from Art Creations some time ago.

I must order some new ink carts tomorrow....not being able to print is most frustrating.

Birthday

The subject of two challenges this week is Birthday...I am happy with that :-)

The Pink Elephant and
Crazy 4 Challenges

Both BP's are from my 'left-overs' box and all the rest from my stash

Thanks for stopping by and all the lovely comments....

New Year challenges

At last....I've managed to find a little enthusiasm to make a card.
For some unknown reason I've had no inclination whatsoever to get back to my 'favourite hobby' even though I'd treated myself to one or two new goodies including this Quickutz butterfly die.
One or two niggly problems re CB plates and my printer haven't helped either.

I liked the look of the challenge sketch at
Our Creative Corner... and as I needed a card for a friend this is the result.

The first Fussy and Fancy challenge is 'New' and my butterfly die is new so quite appropriate for this challenge too.

Over at Crafty Anne's the first challenge of the year is also 'New' so am putting this forward for that too.

Thank you for stopping by and for any comments you have time to leave...hope you'll be back soon :-)
